Chatsworth Web Sites

For those interested, I have a website that I have dedicated to my home town of Chatsworth, Illinois.
http://groups.msn.com/ChatsworthIllinoisMemories
It is pretty new and I am still working on it. I have lots of info about the "Great Chatsworth Train Wreck", including all the info that was printed in the Chatsworth Plaindealer the day following the wreck. I have included some biographies and obits of families that have lived in Chatsworth and lots of links to other sites concerning Chatsworth. Also lots of old pictures of the town, it's businesses, schools and people.
Mary Runyon Hanshew

Hey, a Chatsworth Message Board ! I'm looking for any information on the Huttenburg family that lived in Chatsworth in the 1900's-1920's
Johanna H Julius married a Martin Huttenburg. I have no information about her and would like to know something--good or bad about the family. Johanna died in 1927, but their may have been a stepson?

Re: Chatsworth Illinois Messageboard

Hi Tom,
long time no email. what a small world it is.My Langans and your Lasseks in NE and now My FITZSIMMONS & RILEYS an your LASSEKS in Illinois!
I dont have much on mine and dont know where to start, havent found a list as great as NE.actually havent found a list lol.
So for anyone who may read this what I have is..
LAWRENCE FITZSIMMONS came to USA when he was 16, I can find no record of this or of his parents. His birth is recorded as 1830 & 1834. He married Bridget RILEY in Tompkins Township Warren County Illinois either 1856 or 60, depending where you read it.Marriage announcement has Bridget as Delia. It says they made their home in Iowa after their marriage.
I can find nothing at all about Bridget aka Delia,Adelia,Bedelia,Odelia RILEY other than her parents were Thomas (?) and Mary A. Riley and she was born in Ireland about 1845, which didnt make sence to me as I had 'thought" her parents immigrated in the early 1840's.
About 1891 Lawrence and Bridget moved "west of Platte Center Nebraska"
As far as I can figure she died about 1903. No other details known. After Bridget died Lawrence moved to Lindsay NE and died in 1919 in St Marys hospital where he lived for 7 years.
Mary A. Riley was born 1803 0r 1808 in Ireland.and may have died in NE. Several census have her living with lawrence and Bridget as a widow.
And there you have it, so anything at all if anyone comes across any Fitz's or rileys in their internet genealogy travels it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Cris Murphy

Chatsworth Illinois Messageboard

This messageboard is activated as a common point for discussing genealogy as relates to Chatsworth Illinois. In my particular case, my GGrandparents, Walenty LASEK and Rosalia MROZINSKA immigrated from Poland in 1867. They travelled by RR from New York City after processing through Castle Garden with their first stop in Natrona Pennsylvania. Their second and final major stop was Chicago Illinois where they departed. They then made their way Southward through Chatsworth Illinois where a child was born, Maryanna, in 1868. The baptismal entry is located at the Catholic Church records for Fairbury Illinois. From here, they followed the RR, using oxen and a modified conestoga wagon (Murphy Farm Wagon), to eventually settle in Duncan Nebraska.

I am interested in the circumstances that drew them from Chicago to Chatsworth, and their rationale for leaving, since the early church records from Duncan reflect Poles traveling in a a group from Chicago to Illinois. Any input would be appreciated.

Tom Lassek
Eufaula Alabama
