Just a quick note on the spelling, some descendant of the Québec Chaussé line in Wisconsin are writing their name "Shosey". That is the perfect way to have the exact french prononciation of Chaussé. I live in USA for now 11 years and everytime people ask me how to pronounce my last name I always use that spelling and they got it right everytime!

For William I have it died about 1899 in Cripple Creeks Colorado, it would be interesting to see if that town has any records of a William Chaussé
