My grandfather's family came from Quebec. They were candian trappers and settled in Deadwood, SD where my gradfather was born April 11,1908. I do not know anything about my great grandparents the parents of Eddie Chausse except my great grandfather made the decission to drop one of the double e's on Chaussee. It is believed he had a sister but, my father Danny Chausse is not sure.
What I do know is my grandfather lived most of his life in Alaska, Oregon and California. He was a teamster and drove a truck on the outer islands of Alaska.
Eddie Chausse I believe was married twice but, I know for sure he was married to my grandmother Ora A. Cassidy-Smith. They divorced in 1953. Ora had two daughters from a previous marriage and my father Danny Chausse was their only child together and the only child for Eddie Chausse. My grandparents owned a restaurant in Tok, Alaska.
Eddie Chausee died in 1978 in Carson, California. I was 3 but, can remeber him like it was yesterday. He left behind my father and his 3 children. Any information would be helpful. Thank you, Amie Chausse-Lane
