I have some information on the Chemin family in Louisiana. I'm not sure what you're looking for. If you're interested in this line let me know. It begins with two brothers, Jean Baptiste and Villefred who first appear in Pointe Coupee Parish. Parents are unknown, but the mother may have been Marguerite. Both parents were supposedly from France according to all census records.

Thank you for the information. I have been able to trace my Chemins from South Boston back to France, but have not been able to go any further back. Also, there were quite a few Chemins in South Boston in the late 1800s and early 1900s but they seem to have all disappeared.
