Obituary taken from Kamsack Times, dated September 6, 2007.
Funeral services for Pauline Chernoff (nee Savinkoff) 98, of Kamsack, who passed away Saturday, August 25 in the Kamsack Hospital, were held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Chapel of E. Andrychuk Funeral Home Ltd. with Keith Tarasoff officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery.
Pauline was born on July 6, 1909 in the Village of Petrovka to Wassil and Elizabeth Savinkoff, the second of seven daughters and one son. She was educated at McGillivary School. On June 20, 1932 she married Mike Chernoff and they moved to a farm near Spasovka Village north-east of Veregin. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flower, and as a homemaker was an accomplished spinner of wool, knitter and seamstress. She loved the Fall season and helped at harvest time by picking up grain from the combine with tractor and wagon.
Pauline was a very giving person, always friendly to all, and very emotional. All who knew her were aware of her heart of gold and welcoming smile.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, her husband Mike, brother Willie Savinkoff, sisters Florence Rezansoff, Annette Rezansoff, Betty Rezansoff, Nellie Horkoff, and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her son Fred (Norma)Chernoff, son Rodger Chernoff, sister Lindie (Bill) Dewores, sister Lorie (Gerry) Evans, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Dereck Wolkowski of E. Andrychuk Funeral Home Ltd.
