My people came from Copiah & Claiborne County, MS. I don't know too much about my chess/redmon root but I am related to James D "Jim" Chess (1853) and his half sister Huldah Redmon, is my great great great great grandmother. Jim had 9 or more children and Huldah Redmon-Grigsby had 13 children.. Actually also another James "Jim" Chess (1892 – 1982) married Barbara Taylor, my great great aunt. When I left Greenville, MS in 1991 half the town was my cousins..

James and Barbara Chess had Gertrude Chess 1917 – 2000 Mary Alma Chess 1917 – Esther Manning 1918 – 1982 James Chess 1928 – 2009 Robert H Chess 1930 – 1981 Barbara Gaston 1931 – Kenneth L Chess 1933 – 1994

So I am related to most of the chess that came from Copiah and Claiborne County County by way of NC and TN..

It seems the Redmon-Chess are at the top of my tree and in between as well.. This is crazy..

I don't think all this mass confusion is on my tree but I am refering to my cousins tree.. Do you have a family reunion on the Chess side?
