In reply to your message. I am one of the grandson's of those of my family you have mentioned. I am the son of Anthony Chiaramonte II and the dates you indicate are correct. The town all resided in is Scottdale, Pa. If there is any other information you would like to know about specifically please contact me with questions. I know some of the history but not all that you may want to know. I do not, nor did my father (he is now deceased) have any contact with Genevieve due to personal reasons. I hope this may help you or at least give you an idea that decendents of this Chiaramonte Genealogy exist. Sincerely, Gregory Chiaramonte.

Douglas A. Chiaramonte, 64 , born in Erie, Pa. son of, Vincent and Clara A. Chiaramonte.*Served a Sergeant US, Air Force
Chiaramonte, Douglas A.

Douglas A. Chiaramonte
Douglas A. Chiaramonte, 64 of Las Vegas, Nev. passed away on January 5th, 2009 at home with his wife by his side after a long illness. He was born in Erie, Pa. to the late S. Vincent and Clara A. Chiaramonte. Doug attended Cathedral Prep and Gannon University, was a Sergeant in the Air Force and owned a business managing Health Care and Dental practices in the tri-state area for 30 years. He was the charter President of the Erie chapter of Big Brothers of Erie, was an avid golfer, loved playing handball and was a member of Lake View Country Club and the downtown YMCA for many years. He coached E.Y.S.A. soccer and was a big supporter of Erie Youth Hockey. Doug was a big sports fan in general following the N.Y. Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. It should be noted that Doug hit not one, but two hole in ones during his lifetime. He was a great salesman, always knew how to take care of everyone around him and was well known and liked for his sense of humor and personality. He loved to travel and nothing was more important to him than his family. Doug was married to Mary Welling on March 13th 1971, had one son, Vince Chiaramonte, and in the past two years, became a proud grandpa (Pop-Pop) to Luca and Rocco Chiaramonte. He spent most of his life in Erie, Pa. and truly enjoyed it, however since he was unable to figure out a way to keep it from snowing he and Mary moved to Las Vegas seven years ago. Doug is survived by his wife Mary of Las Vegas, Nev.; his son Vince Chiaramonte and his wife, Jasmine; grandsons Luca and Rocco of Mays Landing, N.J.; his brother, Dennis Chiaramonte and wife Barbara of Erie, Pa.; Nephews David and his wife Barbara of Erie, Pa.; Scott and his wife Wendy of Erie, Pa. and Stephen and his wife Patricia of Erie, Pa. Doug is also survived by several cousins and other relatives as well as a couple hundred 30 yr. olds that always considered him a second father. Plans are being made for a wake to be held in Erie celebrating his life. If you would like to be notified, please email vince.chiaramonte@gmail.com. As a husband, father, grandpa and friendâ?¦he will be greatly missed.
Erie Times-News from 1/18/2009 - 1/25/2009

ERIE COUNTY PA,"
Hello,

I'm looking for relatives of Salvatore Chiaramonte (1858-?) and Antonia Catalinotta (1868-?), both born in Corleone, Sicily. They arrived in NY in November 1906. They had two children Rosalia (~1901-?) and John (1908-1984).

I'm a direct descendant; Salvatore is my Great-Grandfather. If you have any information, please let me know.

Thanks!

I know that my grandfather, Nicholas Cervellione is from Sicily. He moved to Rome with my grandmother, Marinia Delfini. I know a lot about my grandmother's side (Delfini) but not much about my grandfather's side. My grandfather died when my dad was 13. I will ask my father for some more information and see if we connect at all. I know that Cervellione is not common in the US but its pretty uncommon in Italy too, so I have heard.

does your Cervellione family come from Santa Ninfa? if so, there may be a connection. it does not appear to be a very common name from this town.

i have a Mariano Cervellione (b. abt 1830 in Santa Ninfa) married to a Maria Chiaramonte in Santa Ninfa on 12 Feb 1850. Mariano's parents are listed as unknown on the marriage record. i have not yet looked for any children of this union but i could if you think we could connect. Maria Chiaramonte is my GGGG Aunt.

A Brunson family researcher was kind enough to send me this news clipping that may be of interest to Hilda's descendants:

"GIRL, 9, RECEIVING TREATMENT TO NOSE -- Sonora, Sept. 28 – Hilda Sare, 9, niece of Mr. and Mrs. George Brunson, of this city, was taken to a Stockton specialist this week for treatment to her nose, which was broken at school when another little girl in turning a handspring kicked her. Word received by relatives Thursday stated that she was getting along nicely. Hilda will return to her home next Wednesday."

Source: News Clipping, 29 Sept. 1929, The Modesto News-Herald, Modesto, CA, p. 2.

Looking for descendants of Hilda Bernice Sare Chiaramonte (1920-1980), who was born and lived in Tuolumne and San Diego Counties, CA. Hilda was the daughter of my great-aunt, Edna F. Noland (1891-?), who died sometime before 1930. I am a Noland descendant and am hoping that some early Noland family history was passed down through the Chiaramonte family.

I am one of the Chiaramontes born and raised in San Jose. My great grandfather, Salvatore Chiaramonte, built a grocery store in 1908 that specialized in meat particularly his own recipe of Italian sausage which is still made fresh everyday. My cousin, Louis Chiaramonte, owns the store now and continues the family tradition. My great grandfather had fifteen children. Three had died as infants so we have a large family here due to the twleve siblings. I have just copied pictures from that era. Let me know if you want copies. I have a lot of information on the family due to my own three children having to do family history reports. I am a school administrator who use to be a teacher and remember assigning family history reports to my students. You can email me at jeanchiara@cs.com.

I am the great granddaughter of Caterina Chiaromonte and Raffaele Carleo. Both were born in Petina, Italy in 1888. They arrived in the United States in 1911 and settled in Braddock PA. We are interested in tracing our heritage and would enjoy hearing from anyone who may have information. We do legal documents that indicate that her name was spelled with an o instead of an a, but I figured I'd give it a shot. If you have information you can E-mail me at DKrydick@cs.com. Thank you!

Chiaramonte

In searching for the Chiara surname, I wrote down notes for a Chiaramonte which follows. Chiaramonte, Anna, 44 y.o. married female sailed from Parlanna, Italy to New York on 6/19/1900 to see her sons Giovanni and Antonino Diblasi at 295 Flagg St. in Brooklyn, New York. She was travelling with Gaberina (18 y.o. female), Gamerio (12 y.o. male) and Giusseppe (6 y.o. male). I obtained the information from the Ships Passenger List Index for New York for the dates between 6/16/1897 to 6/30/1902 at the National Archives in Wash., D.C. Hope this helps! You might also check the Chiara surname board.
Diane Drago Mimiaga

Hello Mr. Benson,
My mother's maiden name is Chiaramonte. Her father's name was Joseph Chiaramonte who was married to Martha. He died in 1968. My mother has three sisters. I don't know how far back he went. He died in Milford, CT. There are probably death records there. I'm not sure if I am a descendent of Saverio. I would have to ask my aunts who might know. What part of Italy did he come from? I almost went to Italy last year. The name Dominick Chiaramonte sounds familiar. Please reply. Thanks. Carole

I'm trying to find any information about my italian grandparents. My father's father was Domenico Chiaramonte and her wife was Carmen Pagnotta. My father was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where I live. I'm afraid this is all the information I have and I know it's not enough to try an investigation.... but where can I look for any more data? My parents passed away a long time ago. I'm 48. Do I have any chance to succeed tracing my ancestors?
Wait for your advise.
Monica
Post Reply | Mark Unread | Report Abuse Print Message

<<Thread • Previous • Next • Thread>>
