Surnames: Chaisson
yes they were native and they were my great grandfather and granmother. She was pure native and raised by a priest and my grandfather was a train conductor in Lawerence, Mass.
Going back 2-3 generations to the beginning of Prince Edward Island, their grandfather was one of 3 who founded Prince Edward Island while the British searched the island for them. General Rollo, as in Rollo Bay rescued them and they purchased two lot of land and these are known as the ancestral location of the Chaisson Family. They are buried on Prince Edward Island. My granfather Aubin remarried and is buried in Culver City, Calif. Also we are closely related to the musical Chaisson of Arcadian music.
