Dear Kathy Wesley--Thanks for the posting of 10 Jun 2001 and sorry I'm so long in responding. Went back to work and am just getting back to my genealogy. I have copy of the 1860 Illinois census for Palestine, Crawford, IL which shows Robert Chiddix , age 29, Rebecca, age 27. and William, age 1. This would make his DOB either 1830 or 1831 depending on the mo. as the census was taken in June of 1860. Do you have any further info on their children? My paternal Grandmother was a daughter, Dora Chiddix Little and from her obituary I learn that she was one of 12 children but none of them were listed by name. The obit also states that she was the last of the children. They were married in Tazewell VA Aug. 28, 1856.
