I am sorry for taking so long to reply. James Chippey has me confused. First of all, his name was also listed as Chippy. The Pension card states his widow's name was Lorilla. The 1880 Census list James Chippey with wife Juliann. The army records list his age at enlistment as 33. This would make his birth year as 1828. However, to be off a year or two isn't strange.He could have been born in 1826. The 1890 Phila. Directory list two James Chippy's None with the spelling as Chippey. One living on Pierce St, and one on Mulberry. One is listed as an engineer, and one as a laborer. Still confusing.
