There are definite ties to these families.

Martha Ann Chisom married William A. Armstrong
Their son William Silas Armstrong married Mary Elizabeth Chisom.

Martha Ann Chisom and Mary Elizabeth Chisom (Lizzie) were sisters. Lizzie's daughter was Mary Elizabeth Chisom.

Checked my wife's Chisholm-Chisolm families histories. (S.C.) No marriages to a Davis, one , William Edings Chisolm b. l855 in Charleston, S. C. married in Richmond, Va. and died in Baltimore, he had one child, William Garnett Chisolm b. l890, Baltimore and was the author of the Chisolm Genealogy ,l9l4. These are the only Chisolms from my wife's family that were known to have lived in Maryland. Suggest you place your message again under Chisholm and again under Chisolm (same Clan, different branches keep dropping the 2nd h over the years) good luck!

need birth place of Jesse L. Chism Poss. b. Lauderdale Co. Tn. married Sarah H. Sturdivant b. Tuscaloosa Co. Al. migrated to Ms. then to Delta Co, Houston Co. Tx 1900's along with Sarah's father Samuel Sturdivant. Does anyone have information on this family? or Census of these counties?
any help greatly appricated.

1850 Monroe County, AL census:

Margaret Chism or Chisholm (married to Daniel Chisholm)
I believe she was a McLean before marrying Daniel
In 1850, she was widowed at age 50 (she was from North Carolina - Robeson County, I believe)

Also:
Sarah Chism age 30 from North Carolina
Elizabeth Chism age 28 from North Carolina
Mary Chism age 26 from North Carolina
Neal R. Chism age 22 from Alabama
Ann Chism age 18 from Alabama

In another household in Monroe County, AL, there was a John Chisholm... I believe married to a Matilda Curry. Info. on this Chisholm would be greatly appreciated.

Chisom ancestors Attalah Co. MS mid 1800's

I am searching for information on Lizzie or Elizabeth Chisom.
She was my Great-grandmother. She lived in Attalah Co. Ms @ 1870. She had three children: Raymond, Sam, and Mary.
They moved to Southeast Arkansas around the first of the century-Drew County. We have reached a dead end here and need to find some missing links. If anyone has information please contact me at dchisom@billies.org. Thanks

I just learned that this surname is part of my ancestry, thanks to a very nice lady from
,I think, the genealogical society in Dorchester, M.D:
Webster RICHARDSON, my gt gdfather, b Dorchester Co, MD 1850 d Cambridge, Md 1931. He married Mary Elmer DAVIS b 1856 d 1939.

Webster was the son of Jerome RICHARDSON and
Rose Ann BUSICK. Mary was the daughter of
William W. DAVIS and Sarah CHEEZSOM.

Webster and Mary had a daughter, Ethel Mae, who married LEROY BROWN, my grandfather. They had two sons, Leroy and Webster Richardson Brown, my father.

The soundex search for Cheezsom listed numerous spellings. Other than Webster R and Brown all of this information is new to me. Does anyone know of these people?

Chisoms in Virginia

Does anyone have any information on a Henry Coleman Chisom (or Chism), born ca. 1824 in Franklin County, Virginia? He apparently served as an infantryman in the Civil War, although I have conflicting information as to whether he served in the 24th, 26th, 51st, or 52nd VA Infantry Regiments.

Also any information on Chisoms from Pittsylvania County, Franklin County, or the Roanoke area would be greatly appreciated.

in La Junta, CA, is supposed to be tied to the
Chisom family in some way. Anybody have any

Hello, I was wondering if by chance on your wife's Chisholm connections , Have you ever ran across a Benjamin Chism? He was born 1798, He married a Polly? They had children William, Benjamin, Thomas, James, Elizabeth, Henderson, Washington, Minnie and a Isham.
Birthplace of Benjamin , unknown, Polly was born North Carolina, born 1803.
The family claims Benjamin Chism had a sister named Elizabeth born 1794, that married a Benjamin Gray in Ark. Izard county, This is where Benjamin and Polly and their family are found on the 1850, Izard county, census.
