I think several people who have posted Chitwood information on Ancestry.com have used Sonny Chitwood's Descendants of Mathias Chitwood as a source. I own a copy of the book myself. He did a masterful job in gathering his information, and I don't mean to take away from his work.

However, the information he gave on the marriage of Ralph Chitwood, born Oneida, TN, 1902, is incorrect. Sonny Chitwood's book has him married to an Aria FRANCES. Ralph's wife's name was Ary Frances THOMPSON, born May 18, 1910, in Middlesboro, KY, died March 24, 2000, St. Petersburg, FL. I know this because Ary was my grandmother and lived with my family for many years. They had three children, two girls and a boy, all of whom are still living.
