There is a Choate House with your relatives & mine info Indianola, Okla. Go online for the Choate House, a historic landmark. When I was visiting this last June, George Choate, a retired judge, 80+ years, was recovering from surgery. So, I didn't visit them. He is registered Choctaw.
Forward info to me and I'll forward it to them.

Stephanie Black Regis
15975 Hoover View Dr.
Riverside, Ca. 92504
rregis@roadrunner.com

Fentress County, TN Nancy Jane CHOATE

I'm seeking info on Nancy Jane CHOATE b 1795-1809, Fentress Co.,TN(maybe) d. 1901 Fentress Co., TN, Obit says she was 106. Buried Albertson Cemetery. On some census (someone) says she was born North Carolina.

Married (William) Esau (Stephens) TIPTON (date unknown and this is info I would love to have)

Had maybe 3 children...Manerva 1822, William Carrol Sr 1828, and Naomi (Oma, Omi)1835. Lot of years between children. Were there others?

I descend from William Carrol Tipton Sr.

Left Esau, divorced? Any info on divorce would be appreciated. Seemed to have taken Naomi with her as "oma Culver" on 1850 census with John Culver seems to be Naomi Tipton.

Married (any info IF or when) John CULVER

had 6 or more children: Stokely Ryan 1840, Sarah Jane 1843, Thomas 1844, Loranzo Dow 1845, Lodema (Lodemy) 1847, Jacob 1849, and ?

Parents believed to be Christopher CHOATE X b 1720, Baltimore MD and Prudence Staley b 1720 Baltimore with a couple of notations that Prudence was Native American?

Does anyone have reliable marriage, divorce, or parentage, siblings, etc. data on this lady, please? I would certainly appreciate any solid leads. I don't need info on the children of John Culver as that is not my line.

Thank you,
Nancy

Suggest you go to my "Bouck Family tree" and search for Silas Choate. You will find a number of entries for his ancestors as well as spouses. Let me know how it goes, if you have questions or perhaps some additional info to share. One way to find my tree is to click on Silas Choate in your tree, point to his name, and click the search link below his name. In the search tabs, click on the Family trees tab. With luck you will see my tree there and you can access it by clicking on the name... or search public member trees.

jim bouck

jimbo174@verizon.net

(Wilson) I don't have any other information except that Pearl was possibly adopted as a baby and that there was a son, but I don't know his name. I'm hoping posting this information might trigger someone else who might be looking for someone too.

I just saw your posting and I too have relatives who were in the Christian County, Kentucky area. My great grandfather J. Thomas Choate married his wife Minnie Bell Baker there in 1900. Have you come across these names? I believe they had and may still have family in that area. I am not sure who J. Thomas Choate' father or mother were.
Thank you
William Choate
bkkchoate@yahoo.com

Gloria, interesting info. David Bryant and Nancy Choate are my g-g-grandparents. Their daughter, Mary, married Joseph William Patton, my g-grandfather. I have 10 children listed for them, but I don't have a Curtis. I have a William C. that married Olive Avie Choate. Interestingly enough, my grandfather's brother, Charles, also married a Choate...Lula...later generation, of course.

I do now see that I have a Curtis Hattin/Hatton Bryant who married Alma Choate, she being the daughter of Curtis Hickman Choate and Martha Robertson. But, I have nothing on Curtis Hattin/Hatton.

I have info on the Choate line, but I've not been able to find much on the Bryants. I've seen where David's parents might have been from either VA or NC, but nothing concrete or anything I've been able to trace. Any info you could share would be most appreciated. You can also contact me directly, if you wish. Thanks. Barb

You know, that could be why David and Nancy weren't living together when they died. David was in Sikeston, MO, and Nancy was in KY. He was in MO in 1920, and she was living with their son, John, and his wife, Anna, in KY in 1920. I always thought that was strange.

John Reeves Choate, Cynthia Choate,Milton &Earl Choate+Elmo TX

Help to find my Family History. Grandfather John Reeves Choate was born in TX so was his wife Cynthia Ann, I have no maiden name for her. John R. Choate born abt.1860 age in 1910 was 50. Cynthia was born abt.1877 in 1910 she was 33. Cynthia father was born in Alabama, her mother was born in TX. Milton their firstborn was born in abt. 1896 he was 14 yrs old in 1910. Earl Choate was born in abt. 1902 both boys were born in TX. There home is listed in 1910 as Elmo, Kaufman,Texas. Only key I have is that Earl wrote a book about Eighteen Years An ASYLUM ATTENDANT there he gives a brief discription of his life. He writes: A POOR Beginning his father secured him employment before the age of 17 at a state hospital for the insane. Upon arriving fresh from the farm with all the clothing I possessed on my back and a few little articles wrapped in newspaper. My new job was easy compared with the farm work. Never before I began work at a hospital had I bathed in a tub or lived in a dwelling where there was electricity, steam heat or any conveniences whatever, and better meals that I thought could exist. Earl was home when the 1920 census was taken that could have been because of his mothers death don't know. Any one has any information I would really appreciate hearing from you.
I too have learned that he was born to David Alexander and his sister-in-law, Sarah (Sarah lived with him and Nancy, then to TN when pg).
Do you have a time frame for your Mike CHOATE and Lizzie WELCH. I have been told that our Choates married into the Welch family, but am not sure exactly when. My Grandmother had a brother named Mike b abt 1907 and my ggrandfather had a cousin name Mike b abt 1865. I knew Uncle Mike 1907, so it was not him that married into the Welch family. Mike 1865 (cousin) was in the household with my gggrandfather John and Martha Shoate in Jackson CO, TN im 1880. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Pamn

Roy,

I have found Eleanor C. Choate on the 1930 Robertson CO. TN census. Don't know if this is the right one, but here it is. Wesley W. Choate age 27, wife Constance age 23 and Eleanor C age 5. Hope this helps.

Pamn
