Pierre Leclede emigrated from France to New Orleans about 1755. Jean Pierre Chouteau was the son of Pierre Leclede and Marie Therese Bourgeois Chouteau. Auguste Chouteau was the son of Marie Therese Boutgeois Chouteau and Rene Auguste Chouteau. Both Auguste and Pierre Chouteau were born in New Orleans.
