My 3rd great grandmother was Felicite's sister. I was hoping to visit the Plantation but understand it is now privately owned. There was a portrait of Felicite within the home. I am looking for a picture of her. Could you help?

I have an ornate keepsake marriage "certificate" that I bought in an antique shop in Maryland for JOSEPH CRETIEN and LYDIA RUBICHON. The document shows they were married in 1900 at St.Anns Catholic church in Glasgo, CT. Any descendants please contact me on this board. Thanks!

I also re-read Dazincourt's will and found what properties and slaves were given to Prosper. Arsenne Fontenot is specifically mentioned by name as a slave inherited by Prosper from his dad.

Hi George, Some years ago we exchanged some inforomation about the Chretien family from Sunset, LA. Jules Chretien is my wife Laura's great-grandfather; John Hamilton "Tumpy" Chretien is her grandfather. They were the last of the Chretien's to live in the plantation. Through these last years I've collected death certificates and some obits and have learned a bit more about the fate of Felecite; Celestine (Cantrell) and lastly Celeste Gardiner. Do you hve any "holes" in your information that you need completed? I'm unsure as to what you may need. If so, let me know and I will see if I can help you. Laura and I are off to meet the current owners of the Chretien Point this week. I'm curious and about the name "Hyppe" that appears in the 1860 Census. He was my x2 Great Grandfather Born in 1862 Canada? He married Annie Pelletier 27 Jun 1896 He died in 1937. She was Born in 1870 Canada? Died 1944 both are burried in Fallriver Ma. I have no Idea who his parents were and would like to find out something more. I know more about Annie however, would like some information on her as well such as her Parents, I do have her Mothers Info but nothing on her Father.

I'm a descendant of Hypolite Chretien's youngest brother Francois Dasincourt Chretien (b. 1790) and Hypolite's slave woman Fanny (aka Epiphanie, b. about 1794). Their son Prosper Chretien is my great great-grandfather.

Fanny was purchased by Hypolite Chretien from Thomas Thompson of Kentucky 8 Jan 1817, along with her children Sarah (age 5) and Henry (age 2).

My grandfather, Charles Jules Chretien, was born in Algiers around 1887 and his father, Jules M Chretien (I think) met his wife, Charlotte Lofty while staioned in the French Army in Algiers. If anyone has any information or advice that might help me it would be much appreciated.

Maxim Deserre born March 9, 1818
Judith Marie Deserre born July 3, 1820
Francois Jr Deserre born Aug 26 1822
Victoire Marie Deserre born about 1825

Judith Marie Deserre Ralph Gauthier in about 1840. They had one son Ralph Jr Gauthier

Victoire Marie Deserre married Evangeliste Trottier in about 1844. They had two children Fravie Trottier and Exilia Marie Trottier. Evangeliste Trottier was the son of Francois Jeremie "Remi" Trottier and his wife Pelagie Marie Houde.

You recently provided your lineage to me which included Barthelemi, Narcisse, Olivier, Joseph, Charles, JB, Michel and Jacques. Thank you very much. I am looking for the details on Olivier's children and siblings, Joseph's siblings, Charles' siblings and so on.
So far I believe Olivier and Marceline Aubin had the following 3 of 5 children.
Liporel (1848)
Narcisse (1859)
Amanda (1866)
I know that Olivier and Philomene Morin had 1 child, my grandfather, Maurice.

My Chretien is actually spelled Christian. I am looking for information on Narcisse Christian (Born: Apr.1843 in Canada).
He married Orcelia Lefebvre(Born 5 Jul.1858 in Canada):abt. 1874.They moved to Nadeau,Michigan before 1877.Orcelia's parents were Joseph Lefebvre and Elmire Euphrisine Charbonneau.

He married Pauline Virginnie Jeanne Gautier in France. She was born 3/21/1870 and died 3/11/1924. They had 3 children: John 10/27/1901 born in France, died 2/5/1966; Marie Josephe 10/7/1902 born in France, died 6/10/1979; Marguarite Louise 1/21/1911 born in Canada, died 11/18/1938. Jean Louis arrived in Canada from St. Malo, France on 8/29/1907 and was later joined by Pauline and children.

Here's wath I have, François Xavier Ekemberg maried Marguerite Montreuil in ST-Zotique, october 10th, 1859. They had a son also named François Xavier Ekember who maried Sophie Carrière, August 10th, 1884 in Curran Ont. Then tey had a son called Simon Chrétien who maried Glorida Taillon at St-Paul of Plantagnet Ont. the first of jule 1912. Simon is my whife's grand-father.

Étienne Ekemberg the son of Chritian Frédéric Heckemberg and Josette Daoûst maried Suzanne Josephte André dit St-Amand daughter of Joseph André dit St-Amand of Marie Louise Verronneau-Denis the 22th of january 1821in St-Polycarpe.

According to family lore. our line of Chretien's are descended from a child born of a Haitian slave (surname Malveaux). He supposedly fathered three children, whom he freed before he died, at least one of whom stayed in Louisiana, where my mothers family remains to this day.

Hi there:

I have a real puzzle here. I have found a bunch of them under Ekemberg in Soulange. I have a Francois-Xavier Chretien dit Ekemberg married in Curran, Ontario to Melitime Lalonde under the name of (Greenberg) and they had 9 kids there. Francois was previously married to Marguerite Montreuil in 1859 at St. Zotique, Soulanges and I don't know if they had any kids. There he is also listed as (Ekemberg) and was married under that name.

Now I'm looking for the marriage of the parents of Francois which were Etienne Ekemberg or Chretien & Suzanne St. Amant about 1830. Also for the parents of Marguerite which were Gabriel Montreuil & Angelique Desanges Bray.

Can someone unravel this mess for me.

OLIVER CHRISTIAN (CHRETIEN) LAWRENCE, MA

My grandfather was Oliver Christian, according to records I have that state that he and Margaret Clark placed their daughter, Anna Lorin Christian, into a Boston Orphanage in 1917. Lawrence, Mass. is written as the birthplace of Margaret, while Sutton, Mass. is Oliver's birthplace. They are both listed as age 25 yrs and Oliver is a sailor. Oliver has additional residences of Lawrence (7 yrs) and New Bedford (6 yrs). Naturally, I'm interested in learning more about my natural grandparents. My mother, Anna Lorin Christian, died of Polio in 1949 when my sister and I were babies. I would like to hear from anyone who may be related. I've seen a few posts regarding Oliver's family online and on this board. However, I would like to find Margaret Clark's family. Her mother or grandmother is listed as living at 391 Lowell Street, Lawrence. I have a couple of photos of my mother, but, don't know what her parents looked like. I DO have one old picture of 2 young women and 2 children, with the names Mother, Anna, Billy, and Marion written across the figures. I think "Mother" could be Margaret Clark. I don't know who Billy is, but Marion could be Marion Wade. A couple named Joseph and Marion Wade took Anna into their home, so it's possible that Marion and Margaret were friends. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it. It's a very confusing situation.
