Robert Walter Ruple II

CAPTAIN ROBERT WALTER RUPLE II USN (RET.), 61, of Gales Ferry, CT., passed away on May 6, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on July 19, 1946 in Berea, OH. He was the son of Robert and Eleanor (Christman) Ruple. He attended local schools and joined the U.S. Navy in 1965. He married Mary Dee McVicker on June 14, 1970 in New London, CT. After 37 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy, Bob retired as the forty-fifth Commanding Officer of Naval Submarine Base, New London in August, 2002. He then served as NRMD Director at Electric Boat. Bob loved spending time with his family in addition to being an avid boater and golfer. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Malia Ruple of Providence, RI.; his son, Robert William Ruple, daughter-in-law Anna Ruple; and granddaughter, Ellie Dee Ruple of Sugarland, TX. He is also survived by his brother, George Ruple of North Olmsted, OH.; and his sister, Kathy Fullerman of Las Vegas, NV. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A funeral service with military honors will be held at Shepherd of the Sea Chapel in Groton on May 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at MYSTIC FUNERAL HOME, RT. 1, MYSTIC, CT., ON THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2008 FROM 5-8 P.M. He will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Contributions in Bob's memory may be made to The San Miguel School, 12 Carter St., Providence, RI 02907. I was wondering if you have anything about my family. My
GG Grandfather was Christoph C. Christmann, born in October 1833 in Worsbach Otterberg Bavaria and died in 1914 in Anselm, ND. His son, my G Grandfather, Johanne Christmann, was born in Worsbach Otterberg Bavaria and died in Joliet, Illinois in 1949.

I seek information on Friederika CHRISTMAN(N) (1862-1916)and husbands Alexander HEILMANN (1860-1890) and Christian MUTSCHLER (c1847-1910)

Alexander was the son of Georg HEILMANN and Elisabetha HEN(S)CH of Elsass, Kutschurgan District, Odessa, Russia. I am descended from his sister, Elisabetha HEILMANN DET(T)LING STOL(T)Z.

Alexander & Friederika lived near Bowdle, Edmunds Co., SD. Christain & Friederika lived in Glueckstahl Twp., McPherson Co., SD.

My main interest is in the HEILMANN ancestry. I am not researching the CHRISTMAN(N) ancestry or descendancy, though I am interesting in finding out more about Friederika's, Alexander's & Christian's lives and their respective children.

The first ever reunion for descendants of Jacob Christman 1720 and both wives, Barbara Heckendorn and Barbara Kraemer with their combined 17 children. The reunion to be held on the 5th of June 2004 at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church just north of Greensboro, North Carolina. Located at HWY 100 NC & 150 West. All Christmann, Christman, Chrisman’s and obvious variations are cordially invited to attend. A basket dinner is scheduled for 1:00 PM. The new 300 page hard bound book "The Christmann Heritage" Authored by The Rev. Charles E. Chrisman 4X Great Grandson of Jacob will be available at the reunion for $35.00 each. I am not related to any Christmanns (that I yet know of), but they frequently pop up as marriage witnesses or baptism sponsors in the church records of my ancestors. This is especially true in the towns of Feilbingert and Ebernburg and Altenbamberg in the Rheinpflaz or Rheinbaiern region of Germany (not to far west and a little south of Frankfurt).

And I see that some Christmanns also emigrated to Buffalo, NY. I don' t know if the Christmanns that I'm finding in Buffalo in the 1850s (see below) are from any of the three towns above. But I'm curious about it. For example, I find this marriage record at St. Peters German Evangelical Church in Buffalo, NY in the 1850s:

Heinrich Christmann aus Rheinbaiern mit Eva Margar. Goetz [it looks like "of Tuttlingen (Wurtemb.)"]. Witnesses: Johann Christmann and Matthaeus G.....?

Abraham Christmann was born in Waldsee, Rheinland Phalz, Germany about 1833, immigrated to Detroit, Michigan about 1854 and married Katharina Barbara Spindler Jan. 16, 1855 in Detroit. Katharina Barbara & Abraham Christmann were Godparents to my grandmother Ida Barbara Geimer b. 1864 in Detroit - at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in downtown Detroit, (Greektown) Michigan. It was a German church.
Katharina Barbara Spindler Christmann was my great grandmother Maria Katharina Spindler Geimer's sister.
They all immigrated in 1854 to Detroit.

Looking for anyone who has heard of Emma. She appears as a Godparent to Michel/Michaels/Woldt/Bolitz/Mittelstadt children. This church was the Zion Lutheran Church in Syracuse, NY; Onondaga County.

If she was about the same age as the parents, I would assume her birth date would be between 1850-1865 or so.

I do not know if this is her maiden or married name. Any thoughts appreciated....cannot locate records on her in Onondaga County.

Johann Christmann

My Gr.Grandfather was Johann Christmann, born 1860 and died 1949. He married Magdalena ??. Both are buried in Joliet, Illinois. I am very interested in their parents, where they were born etc. One of their children was my Grandmother, Alma who married Harold Markgraf. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
