CHROBAK, Todor; OSTRAWSKI, Szczreban; JACHEC, Jan - Rodatycze

Jan Jachec arrived in the US on the same ship from Liverpool in 1911. All three men were listed as being from Rodatyze, Austria. All three men went to a cousin Anna Jachec at 809 Milwaukee St in Chicago. Anna Jachec (arr.1910 from Rodatycze) came on same ship with Anna Lechowicz - both women went to cousin Nicholius Gurowska in Chicago. I am looking for information about Jan Jachec relatives...he married Anna Bajek in 1913 at St. Adalbert's in Chicago, moved to Kenosha, WI, where children Antonia, Theodore, Emilia, Anna, Mathew were thought to be born - moved back to Chicago around 1927-29, died there, possibly in 1939. Trying to verify this information.

CROBAK-HROBAK family from Poland now in US

I am a Hrobak whose great-grandfather came from Poland to Michigan. I've been told our name was originally Crobak (not sure of spelling). My great-grandfathers name in English was Michael. (I called him Dzia Dzia.) He was born around 1886 and came to America around 1905. He had a daughter, Mary, and a son, Walter. Walter Hrobak is my grandfather and he had 2 sons, Walter and Nicholas. My grandfather Walter now lives in Taylor, Michigan and my uncle Walter in Sterling Michigan. My father Nicholas married and moved to California where they had me (Nicole) and my brother (Christopher). I do not know where in Poland my great-grandfather came from but have been told, and am not surprised, that the town is no longer on the map. He passed away in 1980. I am very interested in learning more information about my Polish roots and would love any information anyone might have. I understand that many immigrants names were changed when they came to America but I am a bit baffled at our name change from Crobak to Hrobak. If you have any questions I would be happy to ask my grandfather if he knows anything. ThankYou<br>~Nicole Hrobak
