I am looking for any information on my family history. My grandfather was Kenneth True Chubbuck and lived in Lincoln County, Maine. I am new at this family history searching so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Halsie Chubbuck

Who were Halsie Chubbuck's parents? He was born 14 May 1899 and was living in Prentiss Plantation at the time of his WWI draft registration, 12 Sep 1918. He married Inez Ireland 25 Sep 1921 in Springfield, ME, and d. 8 Dec 1985 in Bangor, age 86. See their son's obit, below.

I cannot find Halsie in the 1900, 1910 or 1920 censusus. The closest I can come is Elsie D., b May 1899 in Kingman Township, Penobscot, ME, d/o Harvey and Blanche Chubbuck. I wonder if this might be an error of the census enumerator, and that this is really Halsie. He was listed as "Halsie A" in most places, but as "Halsie D." on his death record.

BRADLEY - Richard R. Chubbuck Sr., 64, died Sept. 22, 2007, at a Bangor nursing home. He was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Edgecomb, the son of Halsie and Inez (Ireland) Chubbuck. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed attending the Rev. Ed Costain's church. He is survived by his wife, Cora (McAlpine) Chubbuck of Bradley; two sons, Richard Chubbuck Jr. of Howland and Todd Chubbuck of Bradley; a sister, Charlotte McPherson; three grandsons, Dustin Emerson, Tyler Sibley and Ryan Chubbuck; several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila Ann Chubbuck. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Costain officiating. Interment will be at Tucker Ridge Cemetery, Spring-field. !9 July 1823 edition:" In Plantation #3, Martin Chubbuck to Jerusha Frost" No date for marriage but probably that month and year. Plantation # 3 is Charlotte, Washington Cty Maine.

John Rolfe Frost was born 28 Aug 1802 in Calais, Washington Co., Maine. He was the son of Jeremiah Frost and Ester Rolfe. He married Mary ( Nancy ) Chubbuck 31 March 1824 in Alexander ME. I am looking for any information esp. any dates after 1824- where they lived and how long? Is there any records after that date? Is there a death date ??

There are several Chubbucks in the mid 1800s in Madison County, NY, Melville (sometimes Melvelle and Melvin) Chubbuck is listed in the 1850 census - like this -

Mary A. Wales - (born abt 1818) maiden name I'm told is Fleming - it appears she was married to a Chubbuck - of a similar generation - who passed away

By this Chubbuck - she had Melvelle abt 1841 and Alice abt 1835

Melville - married Mary West, she was born Dec 26, 1845 the daughter of Charles and Orinda Burdwin West -

Melville - is said to have died 29 July 1891 near Camp Capitrea, in Santa Cruz Co, CA.

I am trying to find information on the wife of E.(Emery?)R. Chubbuck. Her name was Emma Wrotnowski, born ca. 1842 in France. She married E.R. Chubbuck in Louisiana (?) ca. 1863. He was a minister and they probably moved about a lot. Any help on these people esp. Emma would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for place of death for John Ross CHUBBUCK. A relative says he died in Pensacola, Escambia Co, FL, in Dec 1999. The SSDI says he died 20 Dec 1999 with his "last residence" being Tallahassee, Leon Co, FL. The state vital records office does not have a death certificate for him. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

There are numerous pedigrees on World Connect given to my line that are incorrect. My line goes Charles/Arthur/Levi/John/Simeon/Jonathan/John/Lt John/Thomas. Do not copy them. I am happy to share the correct information. The collateral lines are also incorrect. Do not blindly copy.

I am researching the family of a CHUBBUCK who married Eda F.GREGG probably in Illinois in the late 1880s. There is one known child, Edwin, born 1889. Eda was born 1870 in Mechanicsburh, Sangamon, IL. She died 1905 and was buried at the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Franklin, KS.

Anglican Cemetery Oak Bay, St David Parish NB in Bamford Plot, Lewis Mundie was son of Jonathan Munday , a Loyalist from Woodbridge, Middlesex Cty,New Jersey, His will naming Lewis is published in "Early NB Probates by Hale. The McLaughlins were Loyalists from New Hampshire. Samuel and Hannah MCLaughlin's daughter Emily Mc Laughlin m. James Chubbuck whose great grandfather was James Chubbuck a Rev, Veteran from Hingham MA who moved to Perry ME, see 1790 Census. His son James Chubbuck m. Sarah(Sally) Stoddard, probably daughter of Nathaniel Stoddard . They lived in Charlotte ME. Their son Martin Chubbuck m. Jerusha Frost and their son James Chubbuck married Emily McLaughlin dau, of above.
Their daughter Flora Chubbuck married George Severance and was my grandmother. She told me that Emily McLaughlin Chubbuck smoked a pipe. My father told me that after James and Emily had 14 children, they separated. Each lived with a different grown child and they didn't speak! My father said that when he was a little boy he had to deliver nasty notes back and forth. Since I'm 68 and Flora Chubbuck was born in 1868, my memories and family lore go back over a hundred years, so i just want us to know that these were real people. lucycarroll@home.com

"In Eastport 25 Dec. 1863 at residence of Trescott Sweet, Joshiah Chubbuck. (MI)" The "MI means that there is more information available. I imagine that it was a detailed obituary. I found a charming paragraph about him once years ago and as soon as I can find it again, I will post it to the list.

Ohio. John Bird CHUBBUCK married Josephine KERSEY LOGAN around 1900. In 1910 Creek Co.,
OK. I find John Josephine with children Walter,Gertrude, George Vondale. Josephine's children
from her first marriage to Patrick LOGAN are also living in this household. Oscar Marie LOGAN. Would like to know where this family is in 1920.
