Hi Richard
I have searched all my info for William, but can't find him, did you nkow that he appears also as Churcher on the marriage index, I wonder if he was an 'es' and became an 'er'!!!
Do you have any further information on him to narrow down the search? e.g. wife, DOB, parents, siblings, ect.

I have not used any of these sites for years and can't remember any of my old log-in details so have had to re- register anew, so I am appearing under a new name I expect! But I am happy to try and trace him if you have anything else which might prove useful, and see if he was anything to do with my side, which would be interesting! I have a huge amount of info on the Glos families from Don Churches, and am happy to share it.
Thanks

Jacky
Hi there,

I am doing some research for a friend of mine, Iain Churches, who now lives in Helsinki. His family most definitely come from Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire.

I have traced one family member, William Henry Churches, in the 1891 census working as a barman in Kingston on Thames.

Please get in touch if you'd like to exchange information.
The link between Edward and his father Robert can be found in the Meare(Somerset)parish records where Edwards' baptism is recorded on 25th Dec 1827. A copy of this entry and numerous other Churches' (alias Churchouse) records can be viewed on a website posted by Colin Rayner (just type colin rayner into google and it should come up).
I do not know if you are aware but Don & Jackie Churches (in Texas) have been researching the family name for some years and already have quite extensive information about the Michigan Churches. If you wish to send them a message could you please provide some contact details and I will forward them on.

Regards

Martin Churches (Desendant of Robert Churchouse)in UK

Thank you VERY much for replying to my post. I am currently working with another researcher on the Churches. We had found about 5 or 6 different Edward/Thomas combinations which fit our relatives ages. We were not certain which family in England they belonged with. We already have much information about them here in the US but no verification (birth record, marriage records etc.) to link them in any way with Robert Churchouse and Sarah Cook. Have you found any resources or verifications that you could share with us to make that link? Also are you related to any living Churches?

We appreciate your help

Denise

just a short note to thank you so much for passing on my info to Don D. Churches. Turns out that several generations back we are related. Makes my heart glad that I now know where I come from. He is going to snail mail me the info he has so we can complete the family tree. It was a wonderful XMAS present as I got the info on boxing day. Thanks again for you help and input. Good luck on your search.
Glad to see you have had some info back on your request. I have seen on my list of births marriages and deaths that A.E.S. Churches was registered in the Barton S? area of Bristol, and that he married in 1904. Unfortunately the lists don't give spouse details that far back. I have found two Amy Jessies, registered 1883 Barton and another reg'd March 1887 in Barton R. and a Florence Annie, registered also in 1883, both in Wells, Somerset. There was also a Frederick George, reg'd 1882 in Barton R?. This one may be yours. There was also a Gertrude Ellen, reg'd Mar1880 from BArton R
I hope this helps. My own Churches' are from Gloucestershire and London. I have visited your lovely country and don't blame our ancestors for moving there !! Good luck, Jacky.

Churches' from Gloucestershire/London

I recently attended the Churches family reunion and had a great time, but all the Churches' interest centred on Godney, Somerset, and surrounds. As nice as it was, I'd still like to find some of my "own". Are there any Churches' out there from Woodchester, or Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, who then moved to East London circa 1830? Also, any Smiths who married Churches then disappeared from English records, after their marriage 1867 Stepney, possibly emigrated. I would love to hear from anyone with info, by email as listed.
