Here is what I have about Lucy Ann Clater, but there are some uncertainties. It is Ok to email me for a 17 page document of ancestors.

Descendants of: Lucy Ann Clater

1 Lucy Ann Clater b. 12-01-1819 Pennsylvania, Lehigh County, Allentown d. 10-17-1905

Michigan, Lenawee County, Clinton
m. She suffered
a stroke 18 years before her death and was disabled. She died 6 weeks before
her husband. Information is from M. L. of Peaks Island, Maine. It is
possible that Lucy Ann Clater was a Native American adopted by the Clater
family. It is also possible her father is John Clater, the brother of Isaac
since Lucy Ann's death certificate lists John Clater as father.
Abraham:
They lived in Island Farm, Sherwood Michigan then moved to Clinton Michigan.
He died at age 87, only 6 weeks after his wife.

2 David E.
My great-great grandmother was Lucy Ann Clater (or Clader) born 1 Dec 1819 in Allentown, PA. However, that has been the end of the trail for me. Have you found Lucy Ann in any of your research? The family evidently moved to Michigan beteen then and 1844 when she married Abraham Ward in Clinton, MI.

CHARLES EDWIN CLADER

Born: October 31, 1842, Salzburg Township, Lehigh County, PA
Died: April 13, 1915, Allentown, Lehigh County, PA

Father: John Clader
Mother: Maria Magdalena GROSS

Married: Lucinda B. STETTLER, January 28, 1866, by the Rev. N. S. Strassburger, then pastor of Zion Reformed Church of Allentown, PA.
Lucinda B. Stettler Clader died September 5, 1929.3

Children:

Sallie A. Clader, born May 19, 1866.

John F. Clader, born December 3, 1867.

Anna M. M. Clader, born December 25, 1869.

Augusta C. Clader, born March 13, 1875.

In a letter addressed to Charles E. Clader dated May 31, 1913 from the Civil War Division, Charles was living at 326 North 5th Street, Allentown, PA.

In a letter dated December 24, 1913, to the Hon Fred C. Lewis, House of Representatives, Mr. Lewis had apparently made an inquiry on the behalf of GEORGE CLADER of 325 North 5th Street, Allentown, PA, regarding an increase in the amount of pension Mr. George Clader would receive. In the reply to his inquiry, he was advised that George Clader was receiving $19 per month at that time and would "have no title to increase thereunder until October 31, 1917." This document was apparently misfiled and should be in the Civil War pension records of George Clader.

At the time of his death in 1915, Charles Clader was receiving $19 per month pension. At the time of Lucinda's death in 1929, she was receiving $40 per month under that pension.

NOTE: Some information received in the Civil War Pension File for Charles E. Clader and Lucinda B. Clader, National Archives, Washington, DC
