H. Maxine CLADY Bowman 1923-2010 Ohio

H. Maxine Bowman, 87 years of age, formerly of 401 Wallace Ave., Bucyrus, Ohio died on Thursday morning at the Wyandot County Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio she had been seriously ill for the past three days.

Mrs. Bowman was born January 31, 1923 in Bucyrus (Crawford County) Ohio to the late Charles Milo and Dora Magdaline (Heinlen) Clady.

She was married October 26, 1947 to John Wesley Bowman who preceded her in death on July 2, 1998. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Walter, Clark and Gordon Clady.

Maxine is survived by sons, David Lee (Helen) Bowman of Ocklawaha, FL, Steven J. (Mindy) Bowman of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; grandchildren, Melissa (Ricky) Contreras, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; John (Kathy) Bowman of Mt. Dora, FL, and Jesse (Michelle) Bowman of Fayetteville, N.C.

Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and several years ago worked for G.E. in Bucyrus. She was a lifelong Bucyrus resident and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1940.
Maxine was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and taught Sunday School for 18 years.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Voelker officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (today) where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Church through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com

Hi

I'm a french CLADY. The name origin is east france.

The region Alsace-Lorraine is a french region but she became german before the WW1, after a war around the year 1880.

During this period many clady left the region. Some of them go to paris (my great great grandfather and a brother) and two others go to USA (boston i think)

Are you related to Albert and Magdalena Schmitt Clady who were borh in Koestlach Alsace Lorraine in 1858 and 1859? The immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1890 with their children Maria Otillia and Emil.

Looking for information on John H. Clady who was living in Jackson twp, Des Moines Co, IA in the 1920 & 1930 census. He was born abt. 1883 in Iowa. His wife is Clara B. and their son is Ralph A. In the 1930 census the spelling of their name changes to Cludy. Ralph A. born 7 July 1906 and his wife Melba have a daughter Delores who is 9 mos. old.

My great grandfather is Lawrence Clady from Northwest Ohio. I was researching the name and found a Clady village in Ireland but last weekend found a German coat os arms for Clady at a renaisance fair and am trying to find more info anout it.

Dear Ron, Thanks for the reply. Michael was born in Minversheim, Elsass according to his marriage record. He came to NYC around 1890.

I have not had any "michael clady's" come up from that time. Jacob Clady is my earliest ancestor. All I know about him is that he came from Alsace, France.

Hi,

I am researching the roots of Michael Clady who arrived in NYC about 1890. Records state he was born in Minfesheim, Elsass. I have not found any place with that spelling but have found a Minversheim, Elsass. He had had children with the names Alfred, Annie, Joseph, and Louise.

i live in henry county too!!.....my great- grandparents were Allen and Erma Clady and my grandparents are Forrest and Carolyn Clady, and my parents are Andrew ana lynn clady!!

Hello Kay, I would like to know do you have an Etta in your tree married to Allen J. Frederick. I think her parents were William Clady and Nancy Bordner. Both buried in the Cole Cemetary. We are searching the Frederick line also.

I have been doing this for awhile now. I would love to see if your tree and mine are connected! I don't have any info right now for you on your question, but the earliest info I have on mine is:
Jacob Clady (b. 12 July 1808) in Alsace, France or Baden or Bavaria, Germany. I had a good lead that is was Alsace, but I haven't gotton any farther. He supposedly came to the USA with his Uncle and married Mary Magdalena Sheetz (or schetz or sheese).
Her father's name was Peter and her mother Margaret.
Let me know what we can put together!

I am sure there must be a connection somewhere, but I don't think the Jacob Clady you are talking about is the same one that I am. He came from France or Germany about 8 generations ago. You are right about Peter being Mary's Father, I think her mother's name was Margaret. That is as far back as I have, haven't ran into anyone who has anything further, I recently got a picture that has Emanuel Clady and some other in it, it is taken in Chatfield, OH (Crawford County) where I am from.

Ron Clady I am working on the same Clady line. Jacob Clady that was married to Mary Magdalene Sheetz or Scheth. I can't prove it but I think Mary's father was Peter Scheth. And they were from PA.
