Frost Thorn Claghorn, b.1880, lived Chicago, wife Zenaide Underwood

I have an original postcard photograph of “Frost Thorn Claghorn”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was mailed March 5, 1914 from Chicago, to B. H. Claghorn in Portland, Oregon, with a note “give my love to family”.

WWI Draft Registration processed in Chicago in 1918 shows his DOB as 3 Apr 1880, and wife’s name was Zenaide Underwood. He was employed by the Southern Cotton Oil Co. The 1900 Chicago census shows Frost Thorn Claghorn, age 20 and an oil salesman, living with parents James O. and Lillie E. Claghorn. Bartlet Claghorn was listed, so he may have been the one to whom the postcard was mailed in 1914.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Frost Thorn Claghorn

Hi Shirley...

I am also a relative of the Claghorn clan. I am related through Emma Claghorn (Bowman) of Florida. She was married to James Edward BOWMAN and had 12 children. For the greater part, they lived in McDavid, Florida. I do not know who her parents were but I do have a newspaper article from the Pensacola News Journal dated March 24, 1968 that states, "His mother was the former Emma Claghorn whose family traces back to Col. George Claghorn, builder of Old Ironsides."

If you have any information on her pedigree line I would really like to have it. My grandmother Ruby Agnes BOWMAN.

THANKS...DR
Huntington Beach, CA
