Surnames: Clark, Johnson, Gordon, Anthony, Candler, Waller, Caldwell
I'm looking for proven info. regarding (CAPT.) CHRISTOPHER CLARK and his wife PENELOPE of VA. I don't have any dates or places for either. I tried looking through the site by Linda Sparks Starr, but it confuses me. I've heard talk of Penelope's surname having been JOHNSON and that her purported father, EDWARD JOHNSON, was the tentative son of a (DR.) ARTHUR JOHNSON and BARBARA GORDON. Barbara was, in turn, purportedly descended from English and Scottish royalty.

I've also seen some places that say Christopher himself was descended from English royalty, although his parentage is unproven from my understanding, as is Penelope's. If anyone can shed any light on either, it'd be appreciated. I descend from them by way of CLARK -- ANTHONY -- CANDLER -- WALLER -- CALDWELL -- CARROLL through my maternal grandmother.
