Looking for Thomas Clark(e)

Hi

We are looking for the whereabouts (or death) of Thomas Clarke last seen in the census of 1881 living with his children Elise, Thomas and Maud at 4 Park Street Crescent, North Myton Hull. He was a boarder living at the house of Ellen Appleyard. He was baptised at Hook and was the son of George and Sarah Clark. George was a cordwainer of Goole.

We have searched for a death for him with no success so far.
He was not listed as deceased on his daughters marriage certificate in 1890.

Any help regarding him appreciated.

I am a descendant, I think of Francis Clark..son James was my g-g-g-g- grandfather. I am from Rockbridge Virginia. Son James was a preacher also. James had 3 sons Nelson, James Jr. and Joseph. I believe he had one daughter.

John Robkins Clark b.1893 Michigan

I am trying to find the father of John R. Clark. His mother was Olive Hodges b. 1874 Michigan. She was from the UP of Canadian parentage and married a Clark (perhaps a John also) from lower Michigan. Her husband died early in the marriage leaving Olive and John (at about age 6 in 1899). John Robkins Clark remembered the sickness and death of his father. A memory of vomiting blood before his death. After her husband's death Olive returned to the UP and married a Minier who were from her mother's side of the family. Family legend has it that the Clarks of this lower Michigan family were well to do but Olive chose to take her child and go back to the relative hardships associated with living in the UP. As far as I know no one has been able to trace the link with these Clarks in lower Michigan. Do these facts ring a bell with anyone associated with the Clark's in lower Michigan? Thanks for your help.

Other people I could identify from the photographs are Phyllis Ross, June Agusta Rusk, Alice Ferguson, Oscar Ferguson, Harry Ferguson, June Vernon and Freddie Ruskdischel.

Carol, I have nothing concrete for you. But I found an Allsion Clark living in either Russell Co., VA or Hamshire Co., VA (now W. VA) who is supposed to be from New Jersery.
Sorry, I can't remember if it was a tax record, or a census record. It has been awhile since I worked on that line of Clarks. I am presently working on a William Clark who appears on the 1820 Russell Co., VA census. He married Ann Asbury in 1819 in Tazewell Co., VA. This would have been a 2nd marriage for him - I don't know who his first wife was.
He is living two doors away from a Frederick Clark whom other researchers claim to be the son of William. I'm still trying to prove that.
Can you give me more info concerning your William Clark? What are some of the other names that run in your family.

I am wondering about this as my line of Clark's out of NJ have 'Peter's' and 'Allison's'....and that really piques one's interest. I have a William Clark b. abt. 1760 that m. Sarah Moore in NJ that are my dead end GGGrandparents.

CLARK Sanders L. 1924-2009 Youngstown, Ohio

Mr. Sanders L. Clark Sr. lovingly known as “Mop,” passed away Nov. 2, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, Ohio.

He was born Sept. 16, 1924 in Youngstown, Mahoning county, Ohio, a son of George and Rebecca Wyche Clark.

He attended East High School and was a veteran of World War II.

Sanders enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially wrestling and football. He was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan. He worked 32 years in the Galvanize Department at Republic Steel (LTV), retiring in 1983. He was a former member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, where he served as a trustee for many years.

He is survived by his two sons, Sanders (Bertha) Clark Jr. of Youngstown and Ray (Brenda) Clark of Liberty; three grandchildren, Raeonna Denson of Spotsylvania, Va., Rhonda Parker of Canfield, Ohio and Stephen Clark of Youngstown, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Tyrik Denson, Rayshawn Clark, Benjamin Parker Jr. and Ausha Denson; his former wife, Virginia; and a host of family and friends, who will sadly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and Fred.

Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m

Claude Clark, Missouri

Yesterday, in an Independence, Missouri antique Mall, I found a certificate in the name of Claude Clark, certifying that he had been approved by the Missouri State Board of Embalming for the years 1921-1922.

I am not related to the Clarks, nor do I have an interest in the store. I am merely passing along information that someone might find useful.

JT (John Thomas) Clark was my g-grandfather. My grandfather was Charles Willard Clark. My grand mother told me that all of Charles' ancestors came from Apex North Carolina. Charles married my grandmother, Maud B. Lawhorn June, 1913. Charles died of typhoid fever late summer of 1914. My mother, Charles' only child was born 6 months later in Jan 1915. I have their marriage license - they married and lived in Van Zandt county, Edgewood, Texas. After Charles' death my grandmother lived with Beulah Mae Clark Smithart in Grand Saline Texas. Have been unable to locate Charles' death certificate or burial site - would like any info you have on Charles Willard. JT was known as Tom.

Noronic Fire Victim Formerly Represented Firm in Lehigh Valley

Mr. Leon N. Clark former representative of the International Harvester Co. in Easton, has been found among the known dead in the disastrous fire abroad the steamship Noronic in Toronto, Canada on Saturday.
Mrs. Clark also is reported to be dead in the fire. The couple had been on a vacation tour of the Midwest before boarding the ill-fated ship.
Mr. Clark had served in Easton and Allentown during his 30 years with International Harvester Co. and was preparing to retire Oct. 1 as the company’s assistant supervisor in Pennsylvania. He and his wife lived in River Edge. N. J.

My ggrandfather Henry Clark was in the army from 1844 until 1868 in which time he served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Rifles. (from 1858 until his discharge in 1868.) My ggrandfather did have a brother John, so we may have a match.

My name is Scarlett Clark Nicewarner and we are cousins. Your grandfather was my grandmother's brother! Her name was Lissie Bell Clark. Sarah (Sadie) Clark was my great grandmother, and Beulah was Charles' older sister as well.

I will call my cousin in Grand Saline and see if she has any more information on Charles Willard. She has done extensive research on Clark/Eason family history.

If you know where he was born look up his birth certificate. That will give you the names of his parents.
Go to the library and look him up in the 1930 census. That will give you a place to start.

I have Andrew as he is a cousin 5x..descendent of Samuel (New Jersey) 1768. I also show that his first wife was Amanda Robison, but I do not have much information about Amanda except that their oldest girl, Ida Pearl married a Payton. Have Census records for them if you are interested in this info.

I, also, am a descendant of Thomas Norris Clark -- my mother's mother was born Mary Opal Clark, her parents were George Walter Clark and Opal Fay Huddleston. I would love any information you can give me about a) the Clarks before Thomais Norris, or Susannah Randolph Payne's mother's line.

Elizabeth Simmer, about Thomas Norris Clarks wife, Susanna Randolph Payne, She was a first cousin to Dolly Madison the wife of James Madison, President of the United States.So they were well up there in high society in the early part of the US history. They are both buried in Kingston Tennessee. I have pictores of their graves which I can send you, if you like, I also have pictures of the Portrates of Thomas and His Wife susanna, and James Payne Clark, George Shall Clark and all their wives, my first cousins wife Faye Clark of Franklin Tennesssee has the origional portrates

Sorry I don't have any information about her mothers side. By the way there is a lot of information that the "First Families of Tennessee" have about the Clarks. I will see if I can find their web site, as you are a direct decendent, you would be elegable for a Certificate from them. Also, you would be elegable to join the DAR, my mother was a member. (Daughters of the American Revolution)

I have memories of Carnegie's wife "Grandma Allie" - but do not remember Carnegie at all.
