      <description>I am just starting the research on this line.  I am fairly good at this sort of thing so I hopefully I will find some information.  What I can tell you is that I have not found many families in this area with this name.  This should make the research easier.  What will make it difficult is there are some variations of the spelling of it.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Also, the name seems to be of french orgin and if that is the case then the line has probably been in America since the mid 1700s.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My Pricilla (or Patricia) Claud's father was born in VA.  She was born in 1826 in TN.</description>

      <description>Jean - My grandmother was Inez Claud Crain and her father was Oscar McGavock Claud, who was born around 1869 in Williamson, TN.  The name America Mitchell sounds very familiar to me, so I believe there must be a connection there.  I will be happy to share what information I have.       <description>The family I am working with is definitely C L A D.  During that time span our family only had a Victor located in Philadelphia and a Didier who was in Yonkers, NY and went west during the gold rush.  Don't think I can help--Sorry.</description>
