I am another Cleal who lives outside Chicago, Illinois. I saw a recent message from Roger in the UK to Laura in California about a "Scott in Illinois". I don't think I'm him, but I would be interested in knowing if another Scott Cleal lives nearby. I am the twin brother of Jon Cleal and little brother of Marianne Mook, who have both left messages on our board in the past. Our clan left England in 1852, decendents of Henry Cleal, and for you historians at least three (maybe four) of Henry's sons fought in the Civil War, including two Union and one Confederate. Several of Henry's sons settled in the central Illinois area, and I believe several of the relatives are still there. On a sad note, my father, Harold L. Cleal, 1925-2004, recently passed away. He lived near Chicago since the 1950's, but was originally from the Cleals who lived in Nebraska since the late 1800's. He was very proud to be a Cleal, and so am I. It is an honor to be part of such a unique family, and thanks for the work you all do to preserve our history.
