From your surname registry... George Franklin Clemans used the "ans" spelling, not the "ons" spelling, at least as an adult. His tombstone uses the "ans" spelling.

The other Clemans from Lodi, WI also use the "ans" spelling. There's only two living male direct line descendants of George; though many female ones.
