I have our tree traced to the "first cousin" of Samuel Clemens a William "Billy" Clemens. He is reported to have come to the West with his first cousin Samuel Clemens, Mark Twain, in the history of Soda Springs and Caraboo County, Idaho. The same story has been told for years in my family. I can't find the name of William's father. To connect the 'cousins'. Berkeley researchers suggest that I start way back with the name of Plesant Hannibal Clemens. Any one have any information? Your help would be greatly appreciated. William Clemens was born Nov.22, 1829 in Yamhill, Ohio.
