West Branch, Iowa - John Clemens, 49, West Branch, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

Graveside services are at the West Branch Cemetery, West Branch. The Barker Funeral Home, West Branch, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clemens was born Oct. 23, 1953, in Germany, the son of Sigfred and Karola Kahlemberg Clemens. He was married to Deanna Davisson from 1982 until 1993.

He had lived most of his life in Cedar Rapids moving to West Branch several years ago.
Survivors include a son, Wes J. Clemens of Des Moines; a daughter, Monica Clemens of West Branch; a granddaughter, Alexis; and the mother of his children, Deanna K. Clemens Pedersen of West Branch.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
