my name is shirley mcdowell from new zealand, my father was fergus clyma, his father was John Albert Clyma. his father was john Richard, his father was William Hocking, he and john richard left Perranzabule, Ventonvaise farm with his wife Grace and daughter and went to the tin mines in australia, adelaide, they were there ten years, elizabeth married Elias Nankivell, they had two sons, then they all came to New Zealand, wakouaiti, Otago district and farmed there for about forty years.Then john albert's children were born, five sons and one daughter, his eldest Son John Albert had five sons and four daughters. the eldest son was Fergus, he had seven daughters and four boys. I am one of the seven daughters.
I have a list of our ancesters from now back to Johannes Clemmow born about 1475. I will send you a copy by e.mail of this ancestory, and hoping that you are from one of those lines and that we can keep in touch. I have the names of some of the children if that is required.

John clymowe married rebecca hambley in 1631 in st.column minor. Child of john and rebecca, richard Clymowe, born 1644 they had 5 children, john was the 3rd child

Richard Clymowe born 1644 maried Ann ? about 1660 in St.columb Minor, they had four children, John born 1644 was their 3rd child.

John clymowe brn 1644 . marroed mary johns in 1683, their son peter was born 1730

Pete changed his name to clyma, born in 1694, married mary batin in 1725/ their son was born 1763, one of 8 children.

William Hocking born 1818, died 1884 married grace trazice in 1839 in Peranzabuloe, cornwall, children of william and grace, Elizabeth nn and John Richard. This family immigrated from Perranzabule (Ventonvaise farm) and went to Buro, Adelaide then ten years later went to New Zealand, Otago district of Waikouaiti, where they farmed the rest of their life bringing up a large family, John had five sons and one daughter, elizabeth had two sons, they all worked on the farm. when they all got married they moved off into dunedin. John's eldest son, John albert cyril was my grandfather, he maried and had four sons and four daughters, my father was his eldest son, Fergus, our family had seven daughters and four sons. the eldest son of Fergus, John Robert had nine children four sons and five daughters, His son Graeme had three sons and two daughters.

We are still producing and the family is getting larger and larger.

I went to perranzabule from new zealand last year to try to find out family, found the farm, ventonvaise, and had a look at it, but couldn't find any family, didn't know where to start really, hope to get back again and try.
