• Some time ago, Mrs. Ellen Clemo, daughter of Mr. Matthew Gabriel, of Amaranth, desiring relief from and redress for cruel treatment and ill usage by her husband, a citizen of the United States, entrusted her case to Mr. F. G. Dunbar, of Shelburne. Upon the application, affidavits and the facts of the case were prepared by Mr. Dunbar and presented before a judge of one of the judicial district courts in the State of Nebraska. Not only was an absolute divorce obtained, but also a restoration of the woman’s maiden name and a decree for alimony to the amount of $500. Thus the onceabused wife and slave of a brutal husband is now in possession of her liberty, her maiden name and her full amount of alimony
