My mother was Mary Belle Clemons, She lived only in Arkansas and California, so I don't think we made the connection, Sorry. Sheren

This a long shot! My grandmother was the youngest child of 10 or 11 children. She was born in 1887 at Fitts Hill, Illinois, near Thompsonville, Illinois to Louisa Clemmons and her husband Andrew Jackson McClintock. Grandma did NOT like her name of Mary Belle. I always figured she may have been named after a relative. Louisa's parents were Calvin Clemmons (supposedly born in NC) and his wife Rachel Armes Clemmons. The Clemmons had lived in several states before moving to southern Illinois. Ithink they lived in KY,TN and possibly in AL for a short time. There COULD be a connection???????
