Owen Clerkin came over to America on a ship from Monaghan,Ireland to Ellis Island . . .He married my grandmother Sara and she grew up in Monaghan too. . .They had 5 children Gene,Teresa,Eileen,Brendon,and Kevin. . .Kevin is my father. . .I am only 14 years old and i didnt know my grandfather and would love to know more about him and maybe even my grandmother b/c she was very sick by the time i was older. . .Sara died in 2002 and Owen died 18 years ago . .He was in a car crash and Sara died because of everything that had been going on with her body and old age. . .they lived in Newburgh,new york and Owens fathers name was Patrick Clerkin and i dont know what his mothers name because they never talked to my aunts and uncles about them. . .I wish i could have gotten to know them more but hopefully i will know when i visit Ireland in the SUmmer!!. . .If you have any information on My GrandFather or Grandmother or even just about the Clerkins or "Clarkins"(depends if the name got americanized in Ellis Island) then you can email me at pinkskittle13862@yahoo.com
