Hi

I don't know if the Sid he is talking about is Sidney Clevinger from Maxie. If it is then that Sid had no relationship with Erasmus "Bud" Clevinger and Martha Church Clevinger but I do. My father was Emil Leslie Clevinger the son of Lewis Arthur and Martha's sister Nancy Jane Church. They, also, had a little boy named Blake but he died when he was abt. 1 year old. I'm trying to find some information about the Church side of our family. Dad's Mom (Nancy) disappeared when dad was abt 12 years old. The last I see of her is in the 1930 Census (varifies what dad said) as Jane C. Clevinger. That was right after Blake died. Can you tell me something. My dad searched his whole life for his family. I'd like to put it together for him. He died in 1967 from lung cancer.

John Clevinger/Clevenger of Spencer County, Indiana

I am seeking information or descendents of John Clevinger (Clevenger) who was listed in the 1850 Census for Spencer County, Indiana, sharing a residence with Isaac Wright. This individual would have traveled to California in late 1850 to seek his fortune. I am unrelated but have a little additional information about him.

Hello

Yes, I knew Silvester Clevinger and he had a son named Rans. Sil (that is what we called Silvester) lived on Bull Creek (Maxie, Virginia) in Buchanan County Virginia near the small town of Grundy, Virginia. Rans lived right off Bull Creek Road in Convict Hollow. Sil helped my father (Emil Leslie Clevinger) build our home in the 1930's and when I was little I remember sitting on his lap at my Uncle Sydney Clevinger's grocery store. He would feed me gum drops.

Dorothy, you know all of the names are so similar; however, I do know that Charles Newton and Willie Maude had 11 children, none of which are the same as the names you have given..and what is so strange, they had a son named Claude who had a son named Smitty. Claude and his wife Ila had two other sons, Joseph and Shirley Mac. The families are probably inter-twined somehow, just not quite the same. That is what makes it so difficult. Charles Newton Clevinger and Willie Maude were my grandparents, lived all their adult lives in Fort Worth, TX. Charles Newton died before I was born in 1948 but Little Grandma lived until the 1970's, spry as could be!!

They had 10 children together. The Vernon I wrote about turned out to be Charles Vernon Clevinger. Earl's parents were Earusmas "Bud" Clevinger and Martha Church. Let me know if this sounds familiar in your family tree. Thanks
