I am looking for connections to Emma Auriella Clewell. She was born in Pa., probably Northampton County around 1819. She married Stephen Hess, born abt. 1818. In 1850 they were living in Bushkill Twp., Northampton County, Pa. with children:

James Hess, 1843
Edwin Charles Hess, 1844, my ggrandfather
Silas Hess, 1846
Emma, 1849
This really isn't related to the Clewell Reunions but I am interested in the Clewell family expecially John Clewell decended from George Craft Clavell/Clewell 1726-1793 as per the Clewell Genealogy by Lewis B. Clewell and Rev. Lewis P. Clewell published in 1907.

With all the names and dates given it is my luck to have the info, aside from names, on John (44) and his family missing!

The only reference is that his daughter Fanny married Mr. Young and was living in Quakake.

Can you enlighten me further?

Thanks, Linda

Southern Clewells in the Winston-Salem, NC Area

If you haven't heard, the Clewell Family is in the process of completing its newest genealogy. We will have several "preview" copies for your perusal at the Reunion, held at Schoeneck Moravian Church, Nazareth, PA on July 13. Our goal is to release the new genealogy at our 2004 Reunion.

But here's the thing....I know for various reasons, ya'll can't make it up yonder to "Yankee Land." So I would be willing to bring several copies of the new genealogy to a "Southern Clewell Reunion," so that you can check it, make corrections, include updates, etc.

The only thing that I'm requesting is that someone would organize and/or host our get together. I know that there are a bunch of Clewells who attend Home Moravian Church and other Moravian Churches in the area.

So what do you say? Is there someone who can help me?

Since summer is virtually "on top" of us, I was thinking we might get together some time around Mid-Septemer to Mid-October, Friday or Saturday evening. Make it as simple or complex as you want. A simple evening & dessert would be excellent; your choice.

What do ya'll think? Any interest? Please contact me at my e-mail address (and don't panic if I don't ping you real soon, since I drive an 18-wheeler cross-county and won't be back until early July).

Thanks for your thoughts....

Rich Heckman
Clewell Family Genealogist

Does anyone have information regarding Clewell Family Reunions in the Western PA or OH area? Are there other Clewell Family Reunions (other than the one held in Nazareth, PA) in additional parts of the US?

I'd like to know about them if you have details. I have a copy of the new genealogy. If possible, I would like to attend your reunion and give family members an opportunity to make additions and corrections.

Please ping me at my email address.
Helen Marie Clewell

I am seeking information regarding Helen Marie Clewell born 1893 in Bethlehen PA married CHarles Ray Hultsch in 1912 unsure how many children she had due to the difficultly in tracing the Hultsch side, any information there would be good as well. Could have been the daughter of Morris and Ida with a sister Esther according to the 1910 census, if this is the same person.
