I know a James W. Cliber who was born in Altoona in 1951.
He knows very little about his family, but he did say his mother was Dorothy Burd and he was raised by his father, James Cliber.

Holidaysburg is way to small of a town for this to be coincidence. I think there is a definent connection.

hellow, hope you can help me.a James Cliber from Altoona, Pa. and my aunt dorothy burd had a son, james cliber jr born about 1951. i was told yesterday that james cliber raised him. that is all the information that i have . hope someone can help me. oh yes i found a james cliber the ss death index for a james cliber that i think is him. born 30 april 1926 and died dec. 1980. my e-mail address is blueburd@yahoo.com.

Is there any correlation between Cliber and Kliber name? In old records from XIV century Cliber was Latin version of Kliber.

Hi Jimmy, I haven't been on the internet for quite awhile so I'm sorry that I didn't answer sooner. I have some pictures of your dad and some of the other Clibers/McLucas'. I don't have any with just your father but with his parents and brother and sisters.

My father's name is Walter Bruce Cliber, his father is Walter Cliber who was married to a Mary Lou. My father was born in 1950 and grew up in Altoona...do you think there is any connection?

JOHN P. CLIBER
Mr. Cliber, 81, of 205 Elm St., Lakemont, died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 1992, at Mercy Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Cliber retired as a carman from Grand Trunk Railroad, Michigan, in 1974, after 45 years’ service.
He was born Feb. 21, 1911, in Lakemont, the son of Walter and Elda (McCloskey) Cliber. He married Anna M. Sherry in Lakemont. She died in November 1957.
Surviving are five children: Elanor Clemens of Lakemont, Walter P. of Orlando, Fla., Elmer H. of Glass Lake, Mich., Richard M. of Flushing, Mich., and Edward J. of Clio, Mich.; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
Also surviving are a stepsister and stepbrother, Rita Frederick and Leo of Altoona.
Mr. Cliber was a member of Lakemont First Church of God, where he served as a deacon.

I haven't seen you since I graduated high school, over 30 years ago. Are you looking to reconnect with family and ancestors? It would be great to here from you again.

My name is James W. Cliber. Walter Cliber and his second wife Elizabeth McLucas were my grandparents. I am the son of James Cliber. I have not had contact with the family since 1969.

I am looking for any relatives of a Walter F. Cliber whose Father was Christopher Cliber. Christopher came from Germany as a young man and settled in Hollidaysburg, PA. I believe that his wifes name was Catherine. I know that he had a brother John and a sister Laura. He died in April of 1899 and was buried in the Luthern Cemetery in Hollidaysburg. I also know that he had 3 sons, John W., William J., and Walter all from Hollidaysburg. Walter was born in 1877 and died in 1961. He was married twice, first to Elda McCloskey and then later to Elizabeth McLucas. There were children to both marriages. Anyone with any information please contact me.
