This was the correspondence:
I have filled out the forms that you sent---I didn't have a pencil sharpener and my pencil was blunt so they may be a little bit hard to head. I also typed ou a copy of what I have writen as I remember Grandfather telling it. I think his story was interesting altho it was sad to. I have alwys been proud of my family name. And your grandfather's sons and grandsons are the only ones to carry it on. Uncle Claude didn't have any children and Uncle Mort and My dad both lost their boys when they were young. I have copies of Grandfathers war record and also one of a Henry Kleffman and a Frank Kleffman but no way of copying them. I got mine from the State Historical Society of Missouri at Columbia, Mo. 65201
I'd love to be able to visit with you and your Mother...our batch-string is on the outside. I think Fern has been in this area a couple of time but didn't stop to say Hi. I think this is interesting and I am always glad to hear from another branch of the tree. signed: Faye
