Surnames: Clifford, Soike
We may be related. My mother's maiden name was Bessie Lavona Soike. Her mother's maiden name was Bessie Jane Clifford. I believe the first Clifford in our family line to come from England was Cephus Clifford. Grandmother's family was from Fond du Lac Wisonsin. After her marriage she and her husband the kids kept moving west. Grandfather worked for the railroad. The first child was born in Chicago, my mother was born in South Dakota and I think the last child was also born in South Dakota. The family moved on and grandmother and grandfather are buried in Spokane, Washington. My mother died in the Seattle area but she and my father are buried in Post Falls Idaho. With both the name Jane and Cephas and the Wisconsin locality we're probably related. I haven't done too much on the Clifford line. I believe somewhere in the papers that mom left behind I have a picture of Cephus.
