Hi mary yes it is true.I am gggrandaughter of JohnW. Clifft and Nancy Dianna Walker. There are 2 more children Emmerson Clifft(he did around 1910 in a hotel in Menphis) my great grand father William Robert Clifft he married Rachel Caroline Baker...Nancy died and John W Clifft married Ellen Harriet Baker(Rachels sister) they had Belva, Zac, Edith, Thurman...John W. Clifft was a Judge form 1890-1892...there are stories of Baker family Benjamine Greenburry Baker Jr he was both Robert and John father in-law- story is that Ellen died in 1893 and John stayed close with family...John is burried in a unmarked grave in Baker Cemetary.

Hi Mary my name is Cindy Hedrick Stark I am the gg grand daughter of John W Clift...I am also the g_ gradaughter of Rachel Carolie Baker(who is John W. Clifft secound wifes sister) she also married his son from first wife Nancy Walker William Robert Clifft.my g-granfather..I know this to all be fact as, i am only 45 my mother was 51 when she had me(she was born 1914) She knew Belva,Zac,Edith. My granmother was THurley Ella Clifft( she told stories about playing with her own uncles and aunts she was born around the time they were) John W. Clifft married Nancy Walker I know some time before 1865 because that when William RObert was born..She died....Then he married Ellen Harriet BAker Dec 16,1883(Recorded Decatur Co,Tn marriages)I belive emmerson was theres. I know Belva,Zac,Edith, Thurman were teirs. You can also look up Benjamine Greenburry Baker Sr and Jr. Sr is Rachel and Ellen grandfather and Jr their father..It talkes about the Cliffts..Oh Robert and Rachel are burried at Lochridge Cemetary, St Francis Co, Ar, you can find it on find a grave..Also my grandmother Thurley Ella Clifft Powell O'neal is burried there. 4 her children, Her brother Erastus and sister Arbie Clifft Powell. are you sure grey was a brother to emerson. my info indicates he may have been a half brother and maybe a full brother to zack,thurman,edith,george and not dianne walker"s child?

YES I CAN ADD. MY GRANDFATHER WAS GREY"S BROTHER I SUPPOSE. HIS NAME EMERSON E. CLIFFT.HE HAD SEVERAL HALF SISTERS AND A BROTHER. HE WAS FOUND DEAD IN A HOTEL IN JACKSON TN. BEFORE 1910 UNDER SUPISIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
HE HAD THREE LIVING SONS,JOHN LEONARD,RUSSELL THOMAS AND CARL RAY-MY DAD.ONE SON JOSEPH DIED AN INFANT.
HE WAS MARRIED TWICE,MARY COTTRELL AND THEN MY GRANDMOTHER ELNORA THOMAS.NO CHILDREN BY COTTRELL-MARRIED LESS THAN 2 YEARS TO HER.
ELNORA HAD SEVERAL SIBLINGS WHO MARRIAGES WERE IN THE THE FAMILIES OF GIBSONS AND CLIFFTS.
THE DECENDANTS OF EMANUAL GIBSON WERE ALL 1ST COUSINS TO MY DAD.

Looking for info on my Clifft family. Henry Hugh Clifft(Feb 20,1907-Nov 18,1981 Lawrence Co Tn) was my father. His parents were Henry Marshall Clifft (Sept 27,1863-Oct 15,1943) and Ada Floyd Davis (Oct 7,1868-?). Henry Marshall Cliffts parents were John Clifft and Linda Logston.Linda died July 13,1913. John and Linda are where I need info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no info on him except that he married Dianne Walker and they has a son, Churchville Grey Clifft,b.1873 mMarried Marion Francis Gibson. Can anyone add anything to this family?
