James P. Climer

CHILLICOTHE: James P. Climer, 87, of Chillicothe, Ohio died 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at his residence.

He was born January 21, 1924, in Londonderry, OH to the late Edwin and Marie Dixon Climer.
On November 25, 1952, he married the former Jane Louise Halsey, who died August 12, 1996.

Surviving are sons, James A. (Mary) Climer, of Parma, OHIO, Steven A. (Joy) Climer and daughter, Jessica, of Bellefontaine, OH, a daughter, Sarah Jane Climer and partner, Pat Davis, of Mt. Sterling, OH; grandsons, Matthew and Samuel Climer; and a brother, David Climer, of Londonderry.
He was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.

James served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded 3 Bronze Stars.
He was a graduate of Ohio University and a former Principal at the Kingston High School.
He retired from the Mead Corporation where he worked as a customer service representative.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Swartz officiating.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Grandview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
