Have you collected the family death notices for Joachim Nevermann and Minna Clocksin Nevermann?

I've indexed them from the local German papers. And I have entries for the spellings Klocksin, Klocksien and Klockzien -- but not Clocksin (so far).

For more information contact the editor/compiler of "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950).
gary.rebholz@gmail.com

Dear Paula,
I just recieved word from my mom that my last posting from about a year ago was not recieved well from you and I wanted to clear up any misgivings.
I was referring to either the picture of us (as toddlers or a little older) at Letchworth park by the water fountain, or the picture of us on the miniture riding tractor and horse in the Bayview Rd. driveway. Anyway, I carelessly used the word 'stole' just to emulate the way we use to talk sometimes.
I certainly didn't mean to imply any dishonesty on your part. In fact, I hold you in a position of great respect for your personal strength and integrity in the way you have overcome and perservered through so much.
Let no reader here second guess your character by anything I wrote here, and to you Paula, I am sorry If I have offended you in any way- Please forgive me.
_Dan

Clocksin family

I am a great granddaughter of Ellis Clocksin (Paul Clocksin--Preston Clocksin-- Paula) and I am hoping to learn more about this branch of my family. prior to homesteading in Montana, where in Wisconsin did they reside(city and/or county)? When did the family emigrate and settle in Wisconsin? Are there any other surnames or info regarding this family prior to their emigration? What was the original surname that became Clocksin, Clocksine, Clocksene? I know that I have asked a lot but anything you can share with me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there Paula,
I found your bulletin when searching for "clocksin". I just saw Martha here a few weeks ago, and I was on my way back to New York (from Illinois), somewhere near where you live ??? when the big storms came through. Anyway, I was surprised to find your name. I miss you a lot. I've told my kids a lot about you, and how you were like my 'best friend' as a kid.
I'm in the process of tearing down the cottage for my parents, and in the process, recalling many old memories. I've thought of you quite often lately and have wondered how you are. I hope this email finds you doing well.
Love,
Dan
P.S. I know you stole that picture of us together, but if you have the means, could you scan it and send me a copy?
P.P.S. Sorry to put this on a bulletin board, but I couldnt seem to find your email.

It was so nice to hear from you again.....I hope you have found out a lot more about your family..I know there were some relatives in several Washington towns....Don't know if there are still some of their family member there or if everyone is gone...You'd think there would be some, kids or grand kids near by..It is very interesting to find out....As far as I know that Clocksin book is still being worked on so maybe there will be some news on that soon...I would like to put together a reunion of some sort before everyone is dead....What do you think??
August Clocksin

Does anyone know anything about Uncle August. He was born in Wisconsin, a brother to my grandfather, Gustave. Their parents were Johann Gotlep and Ernestine. He went to Montana in the early 1900's, as did his younger brother, Herman. Was the postmaster at Carlyle, MT for awhile. He married Tina Plumplum and they had 4 children, Victor, Elsie, Avery and Ed. Victor married Ruby Surface, Elsie married Gaylord Wells. Avery was thrown from a horse when he was 16 and died from his injuries. Don't know anything about Ed. August and Tina separated later and she lived in Miles City, MT for many years but I have heard nothing about August. Would so much like to hear from any of his children or grandchildren.

To Preston Clocksin

I have just read your message inquiry. I am a first cousin to your father, Paul, and your Aunts, Marjory and Vera. I grew up in Montana, where they were born. Your Grandfather was not a twin to Arthur, but to Harry. He moved his family away in the late twenties and died shortly after that. They brought his body back to the Medicine Rocks where he is buried. His is the first funeral I can remember attending. Your Grandmother did, indeed, move to Houghton, NY where she did a masterful job of educating her three children. But they were so far removed from the Montana family that we grew up as strangers. We have had some contact since we have become adult but I'm sure we missed out on contributing to each other's lives. I am doing a rather simple genealogy of the family and have
greatly appreciated the help many have given me. Would be glad if you and your siblings would update me on your family lines.

Ellis Clocksin

Ellis, the son of Gustav and Wilmalina, was my father's (Paul Clocksin's) father. His brother, Art (one of 16 siblings--most use Clocksin, but some used Clocksene), had a son, Ellis who married a Dianne. Is that your grandfather? Feel free to check out the Clocsin web site at MyFamily.com

Clocksin

Janis, It was exciting to hear from another family member. I posted a geniology for the Clocksin-Hapeman family on MyFamily.com. Your grandfather, Art, was my grandfather Ellis's twin brother (not Identical). Ellis passed on when my father was six years old. I've been told that Art wanted to adopt my father after that, but his mother (Gertrude Preston Clocksin) was afraid it was out of charity, so she declined and moved back to Houton, NY with my fater and his two older sisters (Margory and Vera). I guess that art had a son that he also named Ellis, after his disceased brother. If I remember right, he married someone named Dianne in, or around Spearfish, SD. Is that your aunt and uncle? Feel fre to get in touch with me at SoarNteOwl@juno.com, SoarNteOwl@hotmail.com, or at P.O. Box 327, Kykotsmovi, AZ 86039-0327. I moved to Arizona from upstate N.Y. three years ago, and am now living and working on the Hopi Reservation. The rest of the Paul Clocksin Family is living back in NY, except for one brotherPreston

My grandfather was Arthur Clocksin, who I believe was your grandfather's brother. He homesteaded in Montana along with Ellis, Gilbert, Harry, Susie and Sadie. I'm not sure of the date, except that I know my mother (Evelyn) was born in Ekalaka in 1928. She has much more information than I do.

My name is Preston Ellis Clocksin
the son of Paul Preston Clocksin and Bonnie-May [Hapeman],
the grandson of Ellis Clocksin and Gertrude [Preston],
and the great grandson of Gustave Clocksin (?)and Wilmalina [?].
I am the father of Paula Clocksin and Liam Clocksin.
I am interested in meeting other relatives, and also in obtaining any information I can about the origions of the Clocksin Family. I have been told it was origionally Glucksine, and they came from Pomerainia. However, I don't know if it was true. Please give me any info you may have to help fill in the gaps.
