I am looking for any information I can find on a Marie Cloutier d. circa 1919 in Lewiston, (?)Maine. Cloutier may have been the name of her first husband as I believe she later married a Drouin and produced my granfather. I think the names of her children from the previous marriage are Eugene (Gene) and Eva.

Danielle Drouin Alsobrook

SEARCHING FOR CLOUTIER's

I am searching for my ancestors. My Grandfathers name is Andrew Oliver Cloutier I am not sure of when he was born. His mother's name was Olivine she was born in 1893. She had toher children other than my Grandfather they would be Oscar who was born in 1920, Norman unsure of birth year, Lilian unsure of birth year, Doris unsure of birth year and George unsure of birth year. I was told by my father also Andrew Cloutier that my grandfather and his siblings from what he was told were all born in the USA... If anyone has any help I would greatly appreciate it. My father has never known much about his heritage as it was not spoken about when he was a child as he gets older I want very badly to have this done for him while he can still see it and enjoy it. Thank you in advance.

Darlene Cloutier

Joseph A. Cloutier WWII Army Airborne

Hi. I am looking for him or his family. (He would have been born probably between 1905 and 1926) He might have been a Jr.

He was in the Army Airborne during WW2. He was in the 17th Airborne Division/139th Engineer Battalion at one time in his military career and possibly transferred to the 101st or the 82nd Airborne when the 17th was disbanded in 1945. He would have been in the Engineer Battalion, HQ & S or medical.

I am in the process of writing a book about the Battalion and would like to have him contact me. If he is no longer with us, I'd like the family to touch base with me to give me a summary of his life since the service. This also will be in the book.

I have also succeeded in getting these WW2 Heros to touch base again with their comrades after not seeing each other for almost 60 years. Their reunions have been wonderful.

This project is so important because 17 million personnel files were destroyed in the 1973 file in St. Louis MO. I want to make sure that these men will never be forgotten and will be put in the history books for generations to come!

Thank you for all leads to help me on this tribute to our WW2 Heros.

Sincerely,
Tammy Paynter

NEED HELP WITH CLOUTIER/Monastesse Line

Hi I have been trying for many years to research my family history. I have been stuck on a few names. Cloutier, Dupras, demers and Monastesse (monestesse). My Grandfather is Andrew Oliver Cloutier of Massachusetts born 11/27/? he is the son of Carris Cloutier and Delia Demers, he married Estelle Yvonne Monastesse of Rhode Island born 10/12/1924 daughter of Arthur Monastesse and Olivine Dupras in Central Falls Rhode Island. I know that Olivine was originally from Canada her father re-married and they moved to the US she had a brother Moise, Philmore as well as other natural siblings and 2 half siblings. Arthur Monatesse was born in Michigan in 1888 but was found in Canada in 1901. His father also remarried and Arthur and his brother were not well liked by their step mother who wanted to put the 2 boys into an orphanage at which point the 2 boys ran away. I know nothing of Carris Cloutier other than he was buried in St. Stephen's cemetery in Attleboro, Massachusettes in the 1960's and nothing about Delia Demers other than she also was buried in St. Stephen's Cemetery. I have also gone as far as sending out letters to Social Security with the $27 fee to get a copy of their applications and have never received them 7 months later. If anyone has any information regarding any of these names I would be so grateful. Thank you in advance.

Darlene Cloutier

HI
I'm 17 and having a child. My father died when I was three and I need to know if there is anything in my genes that will hurt the baby. I do not know any of my brothers and sisters from that side of the family. I would like my baby to be healthy but I need info from that side so I can be sure it will be. My Fathers name is Robert George Cloutier. He was last married to my mother Karin (Simons). Although, he was married before that. The last time my mother had contact was in 1988 when he died. I would like to know more about that side of the family if at all possible. Thanks

Hello, I need help on finding my great grandparents. All I know is that their names are Arthur Cloutier and Blanche Cloutier ( maiden name is Lizzote). I also know that my grandfather ( Richard Cloutier) was born and raised in Clarmont, New Hampshire. I'm not sure if my g. grandparents were born in either New Hampshire or Canada. I would love it if someone can give me any information on my g. grandparents or if anyone can give me a website for me to go to with information on my family. Thanks alot.
Haley (hal)
New London County (USA).
Both were born in Canada any records I have indicate French Canada. Edward, it was noted in a 1911 obituary, was born in St. Ces(z)aire. I have no information as to where in Canada Florence was born. She was born Circa 1848 in French Canada. Anyone having any info possibly leading to her birthplace...it would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on Arthur C. Cloutier born 06/12/1883. I did find him in the 1920 & 1930 Census for Auburn, Maine and that is all that I have on him. I do not believe they had any children. His father was Joel Cloutier who married Odelia/Ophelia Valle. Arthur's census shows Joel was Canadian-English and Odelia/Ophelia was Canadian-French. He had 3 older sisters Lucy M, Alvena and Gorgina, and possibly a twin brother Frank A who died 12/22/1888.

from the Kennebec Journal

AUGUSTA — Marie Edith Dostie, 97, formerly of Mount Vernon Avenue, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Augusta, April 23, 1905, the daughter of Augustin Cloutier and Angelina (Mathieu) Cloutier.

Mrs. Dostie was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She had been employed by Bates Manufacturing Co. for 20 years and by E.E. Taylor Shoe Co. for 10 years while raising 12 children.

She was an extraordinary person with many natural talents. She could tat, crochet, sew, quilt and make braided and hooked rugs. As a young mother, she would make many of her children's clothes. Over the years, in her "spare" time, she tatted beautiful ladies' handkerchiefs, crocheted countless afghans and made about 100 quilts. She shared most of these items with family and friends.

Marie Edith was predeceased by two husbands, Albert Soucy and Alonzo Dostie. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Soucy, and a daughter, Ann Marie Gagne.

Surviving are five sons, Herman Soucy and John Soucy of Largo, Fla., Rene Soucy of Manchester, N.H., George Soucy of Belgrade, and Arthur Soucy of Mount Vernon; five daughters, Albertine Labbe, Theresa Smith, Gloria Fleming and Rose Couture, all of Augusta, and Constance Beckim of Gardiner; one brother, Rosario Cloutier of North Whitefield; two sisters, Marion Fortin and Reinette Dearborn, both of Augusta; one stepson, Gabriel Dostie; two stepdaughters, Rachael Violette and Pauline Gauthier; 42 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.
