Hi Everyone,
I am trying to confirm the marriage between Joseph John Clover b.1895 Benalla, Victoria d.1958 and Mary Gwendoline Bennett b.1892 in Orange, NSW & d.1968. I have only found the marriage between Joseph & an Ethel Veage. Joseph & Mary had seven (7) children together.

I would also like to know if anyone found that his father Joseph John Clover 1868-1903 is the son of James Gladwin Clover. James is the son of John Gladwin & Lucy Bright. Does anyone know the story why the name changed?

I really appreciate your help!

On 1 Sep 1823 in Clark County, Arkansas, Andrew LaBeff m. Susan CLOVER. There were three CLOVER surnames in 1830 census of Arkansas, all in Clark County: Adam, John, and William. Andrew and Susan (CLOVER) LaBeff show up in census records in Dallas and Ouachita counties of Arkansas.

I need parents of Susan CLOVER. One census record says she born Alabama.
Hello, I am Mandy (nee Clover) my dad is Albert who is Lillians brother. I remember auntie Lil and uncle Jim very well and we used to visit them in the flat above the shops opposite Duddestone Manor railway station. My mom is Pat and my sister is Melanie and my brother is Dean. Are you related to my cousin Pam or Robert? I can tell you that auntie Lils brother John, sister Winnie, sister Iris, sister Shirley, sister Joan and sister Yvonne are well.
I also have fond memories of Johnny and Lil Pratt and David and Derek although havent seen anyone for years. It was lovely to come across this thread and bring back some lovely old memories. Everyone loved nanny Bess ( I always called her nanny Best :). Sitting in her back room with the newspaper open at the racing page and her magnifying glass resting on it. I stayed with nanny Bess for a few days when auntie Lil died, she was inconsolable. Memories of auntie Lil with the beautiful beehive hairstyle will stay with me forever. Loads of fun times with Pam who was always my favourite cousin. Very sad that we all seem to have lost touch. Who knows its my 50th in a couple of years, maybe its time for a Clover/Pratt reunion, just like the old days. Love to all your family who might remember me and good luck with your search. xxxxxx

Peter Saffron Clover was my great grandfather. He was born in the UK 24 May 1819, and lived in Middlesex for some of his life. He married Hannah Griffiths 17 April 1842 at Saint Martins in the Fields church in Middlesex and had a son and a daughter before being deported to Australia in 1844. He remarried here and remained in Australia until his death in 1901.

I have been able to trace his Australian family tree but cannot find anything on his parents and life in the UK. Can anyone help?

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Minnie Clover's son, Russell Ellis Johnson??

He was my great grandfather and no one seems to know anything about him, really. We know that Minnie had him before she was married and as far as we know, the father was David Alan Johnson. However, it really does not seem to add up and we can't find any evidence of him even existing!

Another interesting thing is the fact that Russell grew up with Minnie's parents and was listed as their son in some census, with his last name as Clover, and their grandson in others.

I am pretty sure that Russell was not a Johnson at all and am really curious to figure out if anyone may know the story!

The less I find, the more the curiosity kills me! :P

Clover DNA

We have started a Clover DNA project. There are about seven lines of Clovers residing in America before 1800. We hope to find out if some of them are related. We are looking at using Genetic Research along with Traditional Genealogy Research to try to find out more about our ancestors. Since the Y Chromosome is carried by the male line, we need some Clover males to take the test. Check out the DNA site at: www.familytreedna.com Put Clover in the search box. Should you take the test sign up for the 37 .

I am trying to research all his children and g.children to see if I can track down my John Nelson. Do you have ascess to the LDS records easily as I do not? I have found my Nelson g.grandfather with his parents listed there, but there wasn't enough info online to tell me how this g.g.grandfather fits into the family of this Thomas Burton Nelson.

The particular William Clover to which you refer was actually a son of Jacob Clover of Putnam County, Ohio. He was a son of Henry Clover of Franklin County, Ohio. William was born ca. November 1835, died 13 May 1903, buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kosciusko County, Indiana. His tombstone reads Co C, 185 OH Inf. William was married to Henrietta Chaplin.

If you want to know more about this family, please contact me at junebyr@aol.com

Can anyone help? I am looking for a Mary M. Clover (GGG Grandmother) who married Isaac D. King in Clark CO., AR. on Sept. 23,1847. They are on the 1850 census for Clark Co., AR. with children Martha A. M. (GG Grandmother) age 2 and Nancy E age 2 months, Mary is 22, and Isaac is 28. They are on the 1860 listed as J.D. King, in Missouri Twp, Pike Co. Then in 1870 Isaac King has remarried to a Mary A Wells, and they are living in Clear Creek Twp, Sevier Co., AR.

What I am trying to find out is, Mary M. Clover the daughter of William Clover and Nancy Freeman. I noticed on the 1830 census there is 1 female listed under five, so Mary fits there. No other girls or listed till Frances Ann B.1832. On the 1840 census they listed 1 females 10 to 15, Mary would fit there also. But I have no way of confirming if she is William and Nancy daughter.

If anyone has any information that would help please e-mail me at: kpcoombs7@msn.com, I am at a dead end.

Any help with this family would be so GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks,

Katherine Parker Coombs
Isaac Clover was the son of John Metler Clover. There is some information on the family on the Clover Family Research Compendium on the following website.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~clover/tt/... Click on the link to John Metler Clover and then Isaac. There is a link to the bible record here.

For links on other Clovers on this site see: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~clover/ind... There are about 170 pages on the site so you may want to use the index.

If you cannot find what you want, please contact me directly at junebyr@yahoo.com

My Great Grandfather's name is Howard Clover. I do not have a lot of information on him since he died not long after I was born. I don't know if he is the same Howard Clover you are speaking about in this thread. He was married to my Great Grandmother Elva Venn Crawford. They later divorced. The have 2 children together. One girl and my Grandfather. My Great Grandmother is still living but does not talk about this part of her life and has memory issues anyway. My Grandfather talks very little about him. From what I gather he was not very nice especially when drunk. The time frame for the Howard Clover you are speaking about fits pretty well. He would have been 21 years old at the time of my Grandfather's birth and died just three years after I was born. My Great Grandmother use to live in Enid Oklahoma but moved to Kansas several years ago.
