Classification: Query
Surnames: CLUTE, WEBB
I discovered from some correspondence that I may have had a CLUTE relation in Wisconsin. The information I have resides in both the 1850 and 1860 federal censuses for that state. The Theodore Clute of which I speak was born around 1792. The federal census project of of Pleasant Valley Township, Marquette County Wisconsin notes a Theodore Chute (family 780). You can find him at this link:

Something that is of equal interest to me is that two doors down noted on the same website is the Erastus WEBB family. Erastus' wife's maiden name was Clute. Of course my immediate assumption is that Theodore and Jane are in some way related. This interests me greatly. But I need more help in validating this assumption.

If there are others of you out there with Wisconsin Clutes, especially those who migrated from NY please contact me.

Thanks,
Ken Webb,
Edmonds, WA
