James Oscar COARSON was born on 6 Jul 1847 in Pennsylvania. He died abt 12 May 1918, probably in Illinois. James and his wife were buried in the Riley Twp Cemetery in McHenry Co, Illinois. He married, on 15 Sep 1874, and in Walworth Co, Wisconsin, to Emma Edwinna WHITNEY of that same area. She was born there on 22 Jul 1853 and died aft 28 Nov 1940, probably in Illinois. Their three children were: Maude COARSON; Clyde COARSON; and Ida COARSON. Ida married Elmer Dennis GRAVLIN. Ida COARSON was born 25 Jun 1891 in Riley Twp, McHenry Co, IL. She died 16 Jun 1961 in DeKalb, DeKalb, IL. She married on 30 Jun 1909 in Woodstock, McHenry, IL, to Elmer Dennis GRAVLIN (1886-1940). They had two children: Clifford and Viola.

Ida's parents were James Oscar COARSON and Emma Edwinna WHITNEY.

Elmer's parents were Julius GRAVLIN and Lenora "Nora" LE VOY.

HI...I am beginning work on my daughter's paternal side. James Oscar COARSON was her GG-gpa. He was born 6 Jul 1847 in PA (Lycoming Co?). He died about 12 May 1918, most probably in Illinois (McHenry Co?). He is buried in Riley Twp there. He married on 15 Sep 1874 in Walworth Co, WI (why? living in McHenry Co IL) to Emma Edwinna WHITNEY, 1853-1940. Their children were Maud, Clyde, and Ida. That's all I know about James...sure hope someone out there can tell me more.
