I am doing the Cobb family who came to Australia around 1855, John Cobb.
His father was also John Cobb and Mother Mary Aust.

I hope you can help me out here?, keeping my fingers crossed.
Oh he was the Proprietor of Cobb & Co in England.

Looking for decendants of Charles Cobb and Margaret Downie both born abt 1740, Scotland.
They had six children:

John b. 1765 married Marjory Scott they had 9 children all born Montrose, Scotland

Ann Grace b.1767 married Thomas Fenton

Mary b. 1770 married Thomas Belford (my gggggrandmother)they had 9 children, I know forsure their son James Kennear's decendants emigratedto the USA, but don't know where.

Coline b.1772

Janet b.1774 married John Pyot, they had 4 children

Elizabeth b. 1777

Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of any Cobbs immigrating to the USA. My earliest Cobb is Charles, married to Margaret Downie in 1763 in Scotland. If I ever break down this breakwall, you'll be amoung the first to know!

Mary Cob was born 1758 in Lunenberg Co. Va.
She died after 1837. She married John Treadgill on Dec. 12, 1776. She and John had a large family and lived in Brunswick Co.,Va, and later in Anson Co. N.C. Who are the parents of Mary?

I am researching the Cobb line which may have emigrated from Scotland or Ireland sometime in 1700-1720.They came
to America at Virginia or South Carolina. My earliest ancestor
was John Cobb who was born about 1740,his parents unknown,and settled near Ninety-Six,South Carolina.He served in the Patriot militia and was killed in June 1781 by
tories under "Bloody Bill"Cunningham. One of his sons was
Charles Augustus Cobb 1772-1842,my direct ancestor.If you
