Hello,
Have you ever heard of an Elizabeth Coberly that lived on Leeth Creek in Pike/Scioto county OH. Who sold property there about 1805-06? She was probably the Elizabeth Coberly who married James Lane and moved to Ross county OH.
Linda

Great, how would you like to start? I know very little about Angeline, but sound like you might. All I know is that she had two children that I know of. One of which would be my great grandfather (Casper Baker Coberly) the other (William Henry Coberly), had no children and never married. From what I have found out, Angeline past away in 1877 somewhere in Nebraska. I may have a picture of her in an old Coberly family picture taken in the 1800's. Maybe if you saw the picture the lady in it might look like some of your family? If you would like to contact me my e-mail address is bstdwll@hotmail.com.

Thanks,
Roger Coberly
Salina, Kansas

I believe Angeline Baker is sister to my gg-gpa, Erasmus Baker, b. Jan 20, 1851 in VA now WV and died Feb 21, 1915 in ND. His death cert lists parents as Martin J. Baker and Barbara Rowe. My Baker family migrated WV-NE-ND-OR-MT.

Would like to collaborate on mutual family lines.

Robin
Boise, ID

It may very well be your info. is correct. If so, you are a descendant of Dr. James Stell Coberly's son Issac born ca
1773. Issac had a son Joseph born ca 1791. Joseph son Williams was born 27 Sept. 1819, who had a son Joseph B. Coberly born ca 1853 who married Angeline Baker 11 Nov 1872.Hope this helps

Looking for my ancestors. These are the only facts I know for sure. My great great grandfather was Joseph B. Coberly, born in 1852 and died in 1921, Blue Rapids, Kansas. Joseph had 2 sons, Casper B. and William H. I believe his father was William(s) Coberly from what is now West Virginia. Can anyone confirm this?

Thank you for the information, Barbara. Now that I've had opportunity to take a look at the ages of the members of the household, that does make sense. I'd be interested in more information on Martin's Andrew--where did he go? Did Martin die in IL?
I'm descended from Phoebe Cubberly, wife of Caleb Orahood. We think she was one of James Stell Coberly's "possible unknown daughters". Two of her sons and two of her daughters were living very near, possibly even on the same land as, Martin and Andrew in Coles County. The entries in the 1840 census are Calep Arrowhood, Elijah Arrowhood, Jeremiah Moore, and Levi Carter.
