My name is Rita Martinez and I am researching family members in northern New Mexico. My great grandmother was Marina Coca, and her parents were Isidro Coca and Refugio Lucero. She appears to have been from the Taos,or Rayado area. If you give me some dates and spouses names,I will be glad to look for your people as I search through some of the local records. mrsoledad@yahoo.com

Elfego was my grandmother's (Agapita Coca)brother. My email is v_estrada2000@hotmail.com. There are several of us researching the Coca line from my genealogy society. We sure would like to connect to you.

Hi folks,

I'm doing some research for a friend of mine. His surname is COCA, & I believe he grew up in the Long Island/NYC areA. His primary research interest is in his mother's line. (He's already done his father's.) Anyway, I'm writing to the COCA message board in hopes that an in-law or distant relative might be know of his mother's line & point me in the right direction.

This is the info I have thus far:

My friend's mother is/was Patricia COCA, nee DE MONCADA. She was born in New York cira 1925, the fourth child of Helen A. DE MONCADA, nee TAYLOR, & ? DE MONCADA. According to the 1930 U.S. Census for Philadephia, PA, Helen was born in PA, while her husband was born in Columbia, South America. Any further info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time, help, & consideration.

Kindest regards,
C.A.

hi...i am yolanda..i am a coca from texas...i believe that we are the only ones in s. texas with this last name...there are some in houston as well..but i don't know them. The cocas in my side of the family were from San Luis Potosi in Mexico....they were rather rich in the agricultural aspect...but as the generations passed the fortune you could say eroded....my dad's father's name was Canuto and he is from SLP too...but his father came from spain. I know that there are some cocas that came from italy..but as for me, my decendents came from spain.....I don't know if you knew that there is a castle in Segovia,Spain that is called the COCA Castle...it is really pretty...ofcourse....that is where the last name originates as well, i believe in 1224.
well that is all i can think of for now.....

Coca Family

My mom's best friend is named Mary Jane Coca. Janie was never married. Her mother died in 1949 so Janie (or M.J.) took care of her dad and 2 brothers, Victor, who was never married and died in an auto accident Dec 31, 1959-60 and Joseph, who was home on leave from Korea when his car fell on him while fixing the engine and was killed in their driveway. Their father's name was John and Mother's name was Grace. John died in 1971 after spending 5 years in a nursing home. He couldn't take the sadness from the death of both of his sons. Since Vic was never married I don't think this is your great grandfather but it may be another arm of the line.
This line of the Cocas are from Jeannette, PA. I hope you have good luck in finding more of your family.
