Margaret Mary Cody Obituary, Monroe Co, NY
Rochester, Monroe, NY, Democrat & Chronicle, Nov. 17, 1927

CODY - At her home in Churchville, Wednesday morning November 16, 1927, Margaret Mary Cody, in her 79th year. She is survived by four sons, Thomas and John, of Churchville, Peter of Rochester, and Luke, of Chicago, Illinois; six daughters, Mrs. John Hassett, [Maggie] of Chili Station; Mrs. Margaret Hassett, of Scottsville, NY, Mrs. Agnes Wilson, of Rochester, NY, Mrs. Joseph Horton, of Churchville, Mrs. August Schur of Churchvile, and Mrs. Bernard Fodge, of Churchville, also thirty-four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Prayer from the home, Friday morning, November 18, 1927, at 8:30 o'clock and from St. Vincent de Paul's Catholic Church at Churchville, at 9 o;clock. Reverend Phillip Golding of Officiate. Preceded her in death was her brothers, Patrick, Hugh and Michael, and one sister, Mary RATIGAN.

This obituary has me very puzzled because the 2 mentioned Hassetts cannot be descendents of my Hassetts (though they could be cousins, etc). Also mentioned are relatives married into another branch of the family, at the family church & in family hometown, but another side of the family.... or two. Rather confusing to me but obviously the families knew each other and intermarried.
