I don't know who Charles is. I may be related to him, but it must be through some other relative. John B. Coday, was my GG grandfather. He was born in James Co, MS in 1846 and married Sarah Autry. They lived in and around Simpson Co, MS, and died there. Their eldest son, John was born in 1875. Benton was born in 1878, Jacob 1879, Eva (don't have her b'day), Howard W. (my great-grandfather) was born in MS in 1820, then Lela (no year) and Oliver in 1884.

Howard W. married Jessie Belle Crawford and they moved to Biloxi, MS. He left his wife and family for another woman and disappeared after the 1920 census.

I do have a copy of Serminson Coday's and John B. Coday's Civil War records posted online. Sermenson was shot while walking picket in Jackson, MS. Nancy brought him home by ox cart. He caught pneumonia and died in Simpson Co, MS.

I believe John B. remarried after his first wife died. His second wife was Minnie I. Toland (1872-1939).
